Woods were made of real wood, persimmon if you wanted to go expensive - and the term "hitting it on the screws" was because the screws held the faceplate in place. The balls were wound with a nylonish string material into a ball encapsulated in a single cover that you could put a crack in that looked like a smile when you hit it hard and incorrectly - AKA Skulling It. This shop has all that around back the small ship for $10.00 a pop, I had a fun time with them, a walk down the fairways of memories - when life was easy and clubs were unforgiving - like pulling a screaming tee shot two fairways left, gosh I miss those days with my Wilson Ultra Tour driver (w/ Firestick shaft). Joe will rent you clubs for the day, weekend or the week at a very good price - he's got all the current golf equipment for the high, mid and low handicapper.. A public course they try to keep prices reasonable and have specials and youth programs. Come hit some balls, grab a bite, or go for walk! Or rent a cart and go for a ride!!!! There is also a pro-shop with Bobby Jones gear. Tees. There are plans to tie the nature trail into 17th Street Park and the Legacy Trail. A wildflower area would be wonderful. Forrest Whittaker from IfAS at Twin Lakes Park can help. Also some volunteer days to pull caesar weed and Brazilian pepper along the nature trail would be good. Plant some native wildflowers????

Pawn shops won't touch golf anymore, so Play it Again is in rare company - fortunately they don't take much in the off brand - knock off world. Having been long off the tee, I still can crank it out there and practices on the range have shown less carry of the ball. Gosh, I miss the days, not so long ago of 260-275 carries, but age checked in a bit so I wanted another driver option. I still feel lag in the S shafts so I bought another X stiff with 70 grams of weight which felt great, minus the over the hill Golf Pride Decade which had the nice black n while dual density grip. Snagged a Cleveland copper 60* for those fun but potentially dangerous flip shots and trickery shots around the greens that I love to play - the copper is soft when hit hard and no sun reflection when you open it up to flip a high soft one. Scored some udes golf balls that were in good shape - Bridgestone are my current crush - the tour ones, I forget the model B440 or something like that. Anyway, great staff - we joked around and I left really happy..

Destination Florida carries tee shirts as well as woman's sun dresses, light sweatshirts, hoodies and hats. Don't forget the coffee mugs and other assorted tourist items. After looking around the store, I come to the counter with my tee shirts. There are two ladies at the register and I start up a friendly conversation. I ask about a military discount on my silly tee shirts and was told yes. I'm talking to, just a striking beautiful woman about Florida and New Jersey where she's from. I thank her for my discount and I'm on my way. Destination Florida should be one of the stores you stop in while shopping in Sarasota.
