It's not often that a business in any community gets public acclaim and recognition, but Thousand…read moreIsland Publishers, distributers of the weekly newspaper the Gananoque Reporter, have achieved just that. Focussing on local stories for Gananoque and the surrounding area, the Reporter has won several awards for small community newspapers. Though now part of a larger conglomerate, and even with a web presence now (http://www.gananoquereporter.com/), they still report the local news and sports in a chronicle of the week's events. I've moved from Gananoque several years ago, and my parents gave me a subscription to the paper as a gift. It's nice to be able to catch up on my hometown once a week and see who of my old friends is doing what. Nostalgia is pretty good sometimes.
