Right around the corner from where we live, this is one of my favourite shops in London... near or far. This is THE place to go for grains (multiple types of flour, quinoa, couscous, polenta, pasta, etc). They have a really nice selection of produce outside, which includes the typical carrots, cucumbers, corgettes, lemons, limes, potatoes and onions. They also sell fresh chilis of multiple varieties, pomegranates, plantains, fresh herbs and cauliflower. They have a nice selection of beers, wines, liquors and fruit juices.
They have things you might need to pick-up (ie toilet paper, sewing necessities, paper towels, cleaning products, shampoo, conditioner and plastic wrap), but it's best for the more obscure things you can't find elsewhere. I am making a butternut squash soup with chili and coconut milk for dinner, and they had the rapeseed oil, limes, butternut squash, thyme, coriander, coarse salt, coconut milk and even the fresh bread to put on the table with it. Delightful.
So thrilled to have found this shop and that it is so nearby. Though there is a Tesco right outside of my building, I will often go here instead. read more
