headed out to the Louisiana National Guard depot and I needed a little something something to remedy my hungers and thirst. sign read 'Stop n Go' and it couldn't get any more convenient than right on the way and seven minutes out... pumps are new-ish so yea for gas! up front are the convenience items nicely arranged on little shelves and hangers: the usual stuff in the usual way except a little more gulf-coastal. back in the back is a lunch counter where you place your request, then go up front to pay and come back and get your food. no tables inside so it's all to go...
lady behind the counter set to preparing my gyro wrap combo when I went to wash up and pay. got a cup of water to hydrate then orange soda and then picked up my foods preparing to be underwhelmed. fries and soda were just that, gyro wrap was something altogether else. looked like this thing was panini-pressed for just a little too long, the sear marks are real and they helped the sandwich hold its shape during consumption. plenty of tasty meats inside plus onions and tomato and a enough tzatziki to taste good without soiling my shirt (for a change) the way it's done up I didn't even miss the traditional pita.
