Hello, I am a former student of St Teilo's CIW High School. I am writing this review to list my…read moreexperiences about my time here. If this gets taken down, it's either due to moderation or the fact that this review will "damage the school reputation." I am stating the truth and nothing but the truth, and if they don't like it, then the staff should've thought about the consequences of their unprofessionalism. Quick note to the Headteacher or anyone of power that the name "Tony Fiddlesticks" is a simple alias. I am not revealing my true identity as I know that you will show up at my house and force me to take the review down. To start off, I joined the school during a troublesome era. This was during Covid-19. So, I didn't expect the school to be as it was promised due to the strict regulations at that time. I was correct to assume this, but I didn't have any issues with scheduling or anything of the sort. If anything, Year 7 was probably the only year I actually felt happy in. Moving onto Year 8. Year 8 was a year where I had begun to receive homophobic remarks from some of my classmates. The teachers had me write a note, to which they read and talked to the kid about his behaviour. Did he stop? No. Infact, I had told the staff members to not put me in any classes with him, yet they proceeded to keep me in the same classes with him throughout the rest of Year 8 and Year 9. My safety was completely ignored. Year 9 was a smooth year to begin with. I gained a few friends and life felt complete. However, one day a male student grabbed my butt without my consent. This went down as sexual assault, as it was clear it had sexual intent behind it. I spoke to a teacher and the word went to the headteacher, Mr Lloyd, who inevitably pulled me aside and spoke to me about it. He began trying to find excuses for his behaviour such as "maybe he was joking, boys are always like that." Mind you, sexual assault is far from a joke and should never be treated as such. He then began to switch topics and went on to talk about my sexuality, which shouldn't have even been mentioned to begin with. Apparently, the boy who SA'd me was not spoken to by Mr Lloyd and the event went unspoken. Another event that occurred in Year 9 was that I was groomed online by a woman and was facing false allegations from my ex-friends who knew about her. I talked to my Head of Year about this incident, who pulled me aside once to talk about it. Once. It was never talked about again, just like my sexual assault. I had nobody to go to for help at this point and it felt like I couldn't even be taken seriously. Nothing worth mentioning happened in Year 10, the majority of it has been blocked out of my mind anyways. In Year 11 however, is where the line was drawn for me. I had been continuously getting sexually assaulted in my PE class, this one was more brutal than the rest, as this guy would wrap his arms around me and thrust his penis onto my butt. I went to my Head of Year as one last attempt to secure my safety. She spoke to me about removing me from my PE classes and letting me sit in the Hwb, which was a room where kids could go if there were any issues. She also spoke to me about taking away my SA'ers lunchtime, which is not a threatening punishment at ALL. He was one of those kids who would always cause trouble, so a punishment like that is basically a bit of dust on his shoulder. Remember when she had said that I was allowed to sit in the Hwb? One day, I did exactly that, as I did not feel comfortable enough to go to PE that day. The people in the Hwb ring her to confirm if I was allowed to sit out for that day. She then responds with "He needs to go to PE." So, not only had she completely forgotten her promise, but she basically proved that there's nothing I could possibly do to feel safer in that school. Now that I am out of the school, I have one question for you, the person who is reading this review. Do you think going to this school would help you? There's more to my personal issues that should put you off going to this school. In lessons, the teachers would constantly spend the majority of their time yelling at the children instead of teaching. That's right. Yelling. They wouldn't peacefully talk to them, they would straight up scream at them. This school is not a peaceful environment, it's far from it. So, to any parents reading this review. Would you want your child to endure this treatment? Would you want them to face years of them not getting any help they need if they go through any sort of hardship? No matter what the school says about providing support for mental health, don't believe a word. If you complain to them, they won't help. My mum has complained many times and yet they never bothered to help after that. St Teilo's CIW High School is a place of false hopes and dreams. I think most people have rose-tinted memories of primary school days. I'm certainly no exception; I…read morelook back on those glory days with tenderness and long for the good old days. I would not just write a review on these childhood memories. If I did, Radnor Primary School would get a glowing 5 stars. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to be allowed back in to this school for a short period of work experience. Radnor is considered by many locals as one of the best schools in the area, and there are quite a lot. The teaching is of a high standard and the children are treated with a certain level of respect that I think is hard to find from teachers. The building is Victorian, and so has a great feeling of history and is very attractive both inside and outside. Although there's no grass in the playground, there has been substantial effort to beautify the area to make a friendly and fun zone. I think I even helped with some of the mosaics... That's all I'm going to say, as I'm no expert. But this is certainly a school to look into seriously if you're a parent looking for a school for your child.

My inability to budget with monthly pay was apparent so I thought I'd sign up for temporary employment and go for a weekly paycheck to make budgeting easier. I signed up and within 24 hours they found me a job in the sector I was looking for. There were loads of forms to fill out as expected but all were relatively painless. I spoke to a representative over the phone who was very helpful but did not work in this office. The dealing I had here were less than helpful. The people here didn't know whether I had to wear a suit or not or even what time I had to start at my new job. All in all the company as a whole found me a job really quickly but the people in this office weren't so helpful.

Yea, don't come here…read more As a graduate that studied in both the Ponty and Cardiff area of Glamorgans uni's I can safely say I wished it stayed at Pontypridd. You can't help but be made to feel that this building was built for business reasons and not for the students welfare. There was a lot of back slapping when the Atrium was first opened and a lot of hiding disgruntled students out of the press's way. The building was just over half built when it opened and was a building site. Nothing was ready and equipment was sparse, my heart bled for people studying in their third year. Talking of equipment, there is a scarce amount for 1000's of media students all needing the 20 or so cameras available, add a shambolic ordering system that doesn't work that will charge an extortionate amount to students if they are but mere minutes late and you've got yourself a lot of unhappy people trapped within this educational house. The cafe is overly expensive and is far more of an upmarket cafe that does not adhere to the tight budgets student are on. However the staff are always lovely here. More than can be said for the reception. I can't remember the guys name as I would shame him here right now, but he is the most unhelpful, obnoxious man that has ever been hired. I've seen him be so rude to kids who are just trying to hand there work in I'm surprised he still works there, shameful. And that incompetence seems to run throughout the staff employed here. I had a lot of problems within the second year and was treated disgustingly. What was worse is that I could not go to anyone to help me as there was no governing body to go to outside of the uni, it all felt that they did what was best for them, not you. There are however some great teachers here and learnt a lot out of those few. However I can't help but feel it was alot down to my determination that I got the results I wanted out of here, not them in the slightest. Oh and there is going to be no union as of next year, not the uni experience you would hope for then. Seriously, if you are looking to visit here please speak to students who reside here already before you make your decision. I am a disgruntled ex student yes, but I can honestly say there are a majority of students there that feel the same but do not have a way to express them. Seek elsewhere for further education.

Being the Glamorgan teaching centre for anything media related, there is an entire section dedicated to sound recording with four floors of recording studios kitted out with a huge amount of brand new, high-powered equipment. Having recorded in there numerous times for a variety of different projects, I know that the quality of the end recording relies mostly on the skill of the students and the quality has, except for one glaring exception, been fantastic. Aside from this, the building is a beautiful addition to a city skyline that is rapidly becoming far more interesting than it previously was. With the wonderful, idiosyncratic camera-shaped conservatory building greeting traffic heading from the Bay, it makes a nice introduction to the city centre.

Fairwater Primary School situated in Wellright Road, Fairwater, Cardiff for 4-11 year olds. My…read moreeldest is a pupil at this school currently in Year 2 and she enjoys her time there immensely. The teachers are all lovely and are well liked by the pupils. The head Mrs Thomas is dedicated to providing a high level of education for all the pupils and has a great manner with the children. The children enjoy many activities including indoor and outdoor play. The outdoor area is enclosed for safety and has a lovely garden area including vegetable patch and fruit trees aswell as yard areas for games and play. There is a school PTA which raises funds for the school and all parents are welcome to help. Overall a great school with happy children who enjoy learning.

This is a Welsh speaking high school which has a very good reputation for education, results, music…read moreand the arts. If I'd had the choice, in retrospect, I would have loved to have gone to a Welsh speaking school because it's a wonderfully useful skill to have in Walesin this day and age, particularly if you want to work in the arts or council jobs.
