My experience with this daycare was incredibly frustrating and, frankly, concerning. After taking a tour, I followed up with the principal and received no response for nearly two weeks. I had to go out of my way to track down enrollment staff just to get basic questions answered. Even then, communication was disorganized and incomplete. No one followed up with me on pending items. I had to keep reaching out myself just to get updates. What made this experience worse was the final response: I was told the classroom "may not be a good fit," with absolutely no clear or professional explanation as to why. After being ignored, having to chase down information, and then receiving a vague dismissal, the entire situation felt dismissive and questionable. As a single parent and a person of color, this experience did not feel equitable or respectful. At best, this reflects extremely poor communication and lack of professionalism. At worst, it raises concerns about bias in how families are treated.

I felt they went above and beyond and continue to create exciting things for the kids to look forward to (splash day, holiday parties, etc) Ms. Emmy, Ms. Perla, Ms. Maritza, Ms. Michelle and Ms. Diana are wonderful! My daughter comes home with stories of what she did with her teachers that day and it makes me happy knowing she is being well taken care of. But the teachers are what really make the school special. We couldn't ask for a better and more caring teacher than Ms. Iris. She has an advanced degree from UT in education and a degree in teaching Chinese language. She has been so sweet to our daughter and our daughter has learned so much there. In just a couple of months, our daughter has learned her numbers and comes home each week knowing new Chinese words and phrases that she wants to teach us. My wife and I don't speak Chinese at all, so our 3 year old is teaching us! lol Livia the director has done an amazing job bringing together -- professional -- teachers who are passionate about teaching kids this age. It really shows how much thought and effort they put into the curriculum and how deeply they care about the children. I've never seen kids so patient, calm, and well behaved as I have when we've visited our daughter's classroom. Ms. Iris creates a really fun environment for them where they can be themselves and learn and it really shows. Since our child has been there (he is our first baby) they have given us confidence, comfort and advice when we sought it. They helped us to realize our kid was suffering from hearing loss and guided us on how we could get him help both from doctor and government programs. They have patiently guided our kid through some serious anxiety struggles and I've witnessed they practice flexibility with other neurodivergent children. It's so comforting and appreciated. They do not answer their phones. 2. They are vague via email. 3. Can guarantee you as the parent, will have more professionalism and better customer service than whoever responds to email inquiries. The phone thing, I do not get it and do not agree. This was the ONLY childcare facility that did not answer their phones once in the dozen times that I called looking for information. Every single other daycare I shopped (over a dozen) either picked up the phone or called me back. How can a childcare facility not answer their phone? I digress I had to ask whoever was responding via email if they weren't enrolling because they did not come out and say it, I also had to ask about a waitlist because this information was not offered (emails to be posted). When I reached out to this facility I let them know what the situation was the response was "we are not enrolling for that program at this time". I was asking about part time, no information on full time was given, nothing about a waitlist (I still don't know the answer about a waitlist because they never responded) Customer service is easy, offer all of the information up front and answer any questions. I asked for a phone call, I let them know I may be misunderstanding their tone, none of this was ever addressed or answered. I wanted to go with this facility because it worked for our price point, schedules, and location. However, if this were the last childcare facility accepting in Austin I would not choose to use them. They don't answer the phone or return calls and seem pretty subpar at answering emails. I'm not usually one to leave a review in this regard however, I feel it important to parents looking for a school for their children to know that they are incredibly unresponsive. Not something that you want to be when taking care of children. I sincerely hope that no one else encounters the same frustrations.

There are no cliques and no bullying and when we have had issues we have raised them with the teachers and they have jumped on them to solve them immediately, and unlike other private schools there's no sense of entitlement from the parents or students. Also, because the school is so good at awarding scholarships not everyone is 'rich'! The school also has a great parent teacher association which offer weekly meet-ups and play dates as well as adult only events. Each class also has a WhatsApp chat group so parents can easily communicate with each other. If it sounds like one big happy family you'd be right, that's exactly what it feels like. In terms of academics my adhd child has thrived. Diagnosed at 4 we thought she would struggle but the school has been amazing at supporting her needs and accommodating her. They also offer many different seating types from a bouncy ball chair, to cushions on the floor and other such. It's very holistic and non political and offers many diverse ways of learning. They have a calming corner, encourage reading and emotional open communication as well many other ways of teaching emotional and academic intelligence. They teach in Spanish from day one and introduce Mandarin from 3rd grade, they also teach following the international Baccalaureate which is amazing. He is growing up to be a well spoken, well thought, caring little human. I love that he is bilingual, but I really love his open minded views and his eagerness to learn. The teachers... the teachers have all been so amazing. They are loving, caring and really take each student's personalities and abilities into consideration as they grow from year to year. As I said, it's not the cheapest option and we do discuss yearly if we will be renewing his tuition-- and, with each year this answer comes easier and easier with an astounding "YES". We love the school, the community, the parents and look forward to many more years at Magellan!
