He's an excellent and patient teacher, and did a wonderful job drilling the road test requirements with me. I also had a few lessons with Mohammad. He was also excellent and very patient as well, including exposing me to the type of day-to-day driving which isn't on the road test (like going on a highway). Since they both use different cars (makers and models), I also had some exposure to the variations in how cars handle. Another advantage is that the area where the school is located has diverse traffic conditions within a few blocks. Side streets are very quiet and residential with little traffic and few pedestrians, which is better to get used to turning, accelerating and braking, looking out at stop signs etc. Some of the main streets have moderate traffic, while Foster Ave itself is usually very busy. So it's a great location to practice driving in different conditions. I got my license and will probably take a couple of additional practice sessions before feeling comfortable driving by myself. Highly recommended.

They didnt even teach him the basics. The only thing that seem to care about is taking some defenseless kid money. Also, if you live nearby, instructor picks up and drop off at address so it is convenient. I took road test 2x at a different school but unfortunately failed both times. However, I'm planning on leaving the city since it's hard to find a decent job here. I need to learn how to drive since there are parts of the country with poor public transportation. I decided to get driving lessons. I've had lessons with my old man on and off for the past 3 years, but they were usually in an empty parking lot. I never really drove in traffic. I chose this school since they boasted about a 97% pass rate. I'm not going to lie- I chose Anastasia because her profile picture looked cute. Unfortunately for me, her personality wasn't so cute. At the beginning of the lesson, I made it clear that I was a nervous driver. She seemed apathetic and callous. She kept admonishing me for mistakes that I made. She didn't understand the fact that I WENT TO DRIVING SCHOOL BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE. It's only fair that I point out that she did make an effort to explain some things, like the difference between a regular stop sign and an all way stop sign. She also explained how to parallel park and do a three point turn. My mediocre rating has nothing to do with the competency of the instructors at LTD- these people know what they're talking about. It has to do with their attitude. The drivers in Brooklyn are ruthless. They have no sympathy for a guy who is trying to learn how to drive. Whenever they felt that I was driving too slow, they'd overtake me. I felt that was disrespectful. When I complained about that, Anastasia basically said, "Tough luck, deal with it." There was one week when she was overbooked. In the back of my mind, I was glad that I wouldn't have to deal with her. Instead, I had Sasha. Much to my chagrin, he was even worse. He got pissed off when I inadvertently drove in a bike lane. He nagged me to the point where I felt like saying, "F**k this" and getting out of the car. After that lesson (which ended about two and a half hours ago), I decided to no longer take lessons at LTD. I don't mean to sound racist, but Russians are terse and impatient people. Whenever they teach someone something, they don't coddle them. I had a similar experience with a Russian math professor in college. I will try to find another driving school. If you have thick skin and are willing to take a lot of abuse, then by all means sign up for lessons at LTD. If you're a nervous and/or sensitive person, then don't even think about taking lessons at this school.

Maybe it was the customer service or perhaps the universe had the right school waiting for me. My brother just happened to be walking on the block where Alexander's Auto School & Services was located. He knew I was looking for a driving school so he inquired about the prices (which were fair) and I went over personally to ask questions and then made my payment. Trust me, we all say we can drive but the majority cannot. You see, Alexander made it super clear to me, he said "you have to learn to drive the way the DMV wants you to drive to pass the DMV road test". Whether you have experience or not, If your intentions is passing the DMV road test, then you must prepare to drive for the DMV road test. Alexander was beyond patient, friendly, professional, knowledgable, detailed, and the tips he gave me were priceless. Please note - we all are different drivers, with different strengths and weaknesses. I have years of experience driving abroad, but no experience driving the way the NYC DMV road test requires me to drive in order to pass. My time was limited, being my test was on 3/19. I literally took a Driving lesson with Alexander the day before (3/18) to help brush up on the necessary skills to pass the DMV road test. Alexander offered tips he could patent, seriously he's the man! He was also super honest regarding my strengths and weaknesses, I think that is really important. While driving to the DMV road test on 3/19, he quickly touched on the areas I needed to focus on. I followed his directions/method and I am super excited to say, I passed!!!
