Disclaimer: I won't even pretend I know what I am talking about. Take this review with two grains…read moreof salt, and add one of them to the food. I had the opportunity to try the Pork Belly 'little snacks', Oysters Rockefeller, Smoked Prime Rib (Fri/Sat Special), as well as the Raspberry No-hito (non-alc) and the Smoked Old Fashioned. The Oysters Rockefeller were phenomenal. While I typically take my oysters raw, I am glad I ventured out of my comfort zone on this one. While the oysters themselves were a little on the smaller side, the sauce was savory, creamy, and all around excellent. I also love how they were baked in their wood-fired over, bestowing not only delectable browning, but also a little bit of smoke (this will be a common theme, just you wait!). One word of caution: the bed of salt makes it easy for a few extra sprinkles to make it into the oyster, making it considerably salty. Next come the Pork Belly snacks. These were cooked perfectly, with the meat tender and the fat rendered ideally. They weren't completely melt-in-your-mouth, but this isn't a complaint. I believe these too were cooked in the over or over the fire, as opposed to whatever preparation makes pork belly so soft it might as well melt in a pan. Also enjoyable was the Red Pepper Jelly. I was expecting something similar to the jarred stuff I have in the fridge, but was instead pleasantly surprised with a lightly sweet and hot, seemingly house-made pepper jelly. Before continuing, I have to once again admit that I can't speak authoritatively, and make no claim that my thoughts originate in the mind of greatness. The Smoked Prime Rib is where I must be less of a raving fan. I want to give credit where credit is due: this is a big, honking piece of meat! I also want to recognize that it is just about the smokiest steak I've ever had, similar to a top-notch BBQ joint. With the help of the smoke, I cannot deny it was a tasty piece of meat! However, I have three complaints. First, I requested it medium-rare; this felt like something between a medium-rare and a medium. Second, the jury is still out on the fat content. The marbling did not feel incredible, and the very large bits of untrimmed fat felt unnecessary in my opinion. Finally, there is the matter of seasoning, as the steak felt under-salted. Given that the horseradish sauce gave the opportunity to add a new dimension of flavor, but salt is the magic that helps elevate everything. This dish also came with Brussels sprouts and smashed potatoes. The potatoes were cooked and seasoned well. The sprouts, however, fell short of the mark for me. For them to go from good to great would need a little more fat and salt. Good news is that there is plenty more food to go around! The drinks, the service, and the vibe. For beverages, I ordered a Raspberry No-jito (non-alcoholic) and a Smoked Old Fashioned. The No-jito was done very well; it was minty, refreshing, a little tart, and not overpoweringly sweet. The Old Fashioned was hands-down phenomenal. Not only was the use of smoke great to add smoothness, but the quality of ingredients and their balance were all top-notch. The kind of drink that takes me back to the decade ago when I reached drinking age and fell in love with Old Fashioneds. Next, we have the service. The bar-servers were all extremely welcoming, attentive, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Points also for the manager/owner checking in to see how I was going and if I was happy with everything. Mega points for all the food coming out quickly and with appropriate timing. Real talk: having eaten at Smyth, while their team is great, they could learn a thing or two from the service team here. Regarding the vibe, which is modern and upscale without being stuffy. The kind of spot where I'd love to spend a few hours with friends, a date, or alone. While the prices are a little on the high side, given the price of everything, and especially beef, I think the value is on the high side of fair. Final verdict: The Phoenix Kitchen delivers excellence with their staff, vibe, drinks, and most of their food. While the steak fell a little short for me, this could be a one-time fluke, or a matter of preference and/or ignorance. While Homer Glen is a bit out of the way, and this isn't *quite* a destination, I'd happily return, and give it my recommendation.

We sat at the bar a were greater in a timely manner by a friendly bartender. I should mention that the entire bar area was full. Our bartender took our drink orders. Tye alcohol special for Friday was $3.50 Imported bottles. We ordered wine and a draft beer. The drinks arrived right away and we were asked if we were ready to order. We both ordered the fish special. We were happily surprised when our server said we could pick any side if we wanted something other than fries. This included the option of picking one of the 2 soups they had available. We elected to pick a cup of the soup of the day which was lasagna soup and waffle sweet potato fries with the other dinner. The lasagna soup arrived first. It was excellent. It was served at a nice hot temperature with a rich seasoned tomato base that had little lasagna pieces in addition to some vegetables. Our fish dinners then arrived. There was an impressive amount of first serving fish at least 5 pieces each plate. The taste of the pollack fillets was fresh and tender. We both felt that the breeding was too thick and very salty for our taste. Unfortunately we noticed the taste of the breading was probably also negatively affected because the oil being overused. We enjoyed the fish by pulling off the majority of the breading and just eating the fish. We did not order any additional fish because the initial portion was enormous. The accompanied waffle sweet fries were not our favorite. They were pretty this which didn't allow for much sweet potato taste. They also absorbed the oil taste which was unappealing. The coleslaw was fresh but seasoned to lightly with very little sauce. Final thoughts were that the soup was our favorite. The pricing is definitely value for AYCE pollack. Fish was fresh and flakey. Too muck breading and salt with an unpleasant oily taste.

He begged me not to call the police, and I was kind and respected his request. I agreed to settle everything peacefully without calling insurance or getting him in trouble. However, after he spoke to his manager, everything changed. The company told him to lie to the police and claim that the accident was my fault, even though I was driving straight and he hit me from the back. I witnessed this lie right in front of me after I had helped him. When I called the company to explain what really happened, the manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. He insulted me and called me names for no reason. I never mentioned anything about race, but he still accused me of being racist, which is especially hurtful since I am Middle Eastern and deal with racism myself. This company showed dishonesty, disrespect, and zero professionalism. Based on my experience, I do not trust them, and I would not recommend their services to anyone.

What truly impressed us was how they coordinated the entire job--far beyond what their contract required. They scheduled and managed other trades, including the deck crew, pool installers, and electricians. They didn't have to do any of that, but they did it anyway to make sure the project flowed smoothly. One of the reasons we chose them was because they are Unilock certified, which was extremely important to us for warranty purposes. The majority of our project involved extensive Unilock pavers off the back of our home and surrounding the new pool, and their craftsmanship is absolutely outstanding. At the beginning, we had a clear plan, but as with any large construction project, things changed along the way. Jimenez and Sons handled every change quickly, professionally, and without ever falling behind schedule. They made on-the-fly adjustments to retaining walls, pool equipment locations, and even the water features--all without a single complaint. Their work ethic is unmatched. They were on-site at 7 AM every day, stayed until dark, and even worked Saturdays, something you don't see from many contractors today. This is clearly a family-run business, and they treat you like part of that family. They work on your home as if it were their own. Even the father, who started this business many years ago with just a shovel and a wheelbarrow, was there from start to finish. His passion for the craft still shines through. And I have to highlight Rene Jimenez specifically--he is truly the best. Rene is not only extremely knowledgeable, but also an all-around great person: honest, easy to work with, and patient. He has an incredible vision for tough, complicated projects, and he can see solutions long before anyone else does. His leadership and creativity were a huge part of why this project turned out so beautifully. They went above and beyond with the landscaping as well. They moved and replanted trees to improve the view, added multiple new trees and shrubs, and placed everything perfectly to enhance beauty while blocking unwanted sightlines. Our backyard has been completely transformed, and we couldn't be happier with the results. It's rare to find a company that combines skill, integrity, dedication, and true pride in their work the way Jimenez and Sons does. We highly recommend Rene and his entire team to anyone considering landscaping or hardscaping work. We will absolutely be using them again in the future. Chuck and Christin - Homer Glen
