My grandson attends, they are family friendly. I appreciate the attention that he receives to enhance his learning skills.

Absolutely amazing place. They make you feel like family. The preschool class was perfect for my little guy and the older one started in the beginner class and is now a brown belt. They teach the important things like commitment, self confidence, assertiveness and overall is getting them to understand physical activity can be fun. Check out the Bully Buster program too! Started off as a great experience for my son. He was in Karate for 3 years. He lost interest in the sport, and stopped going in June, his contract was up in October so we continued to pay until October and then told them he was done. They reactivated his contract in January with out telling us, and are charging us monthly for NO Services. Very disappointing for a family business. We now have to get a lawyer. BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE YOU SIGN A CONTRACT! The school is a fantastic place for children to learn, develop, and play. The teachers are attentive and assertive. I loved that the teachers encouraged the parents to put down the cellphones and be a part of their child's experience. The facility is clean, spacious and very nice. If my review were based purely on my experience with these things, it would be 5 stars. However, it's not. When I brought my child in for her trial classes, which was I think two or 3 classes, Zahand sat down with me twice to review the contract. Initially, I was shocked that I would have to sign a contract. This was the first activity where I had to. It was expensive, and I am a single parent without assistance from the other parent, but it made my child happy and that was all that mattered. However, I explained in my contract signing that I would likely be moving in May or June (before the contract was up) and Zahand assured me that was not an issue. I also explained that Rhea's grandpa would likely be the one bringing her to class as I work doubles most days. We read over the contract and I signed. What I didn't see was that there was nothing in the contract protecting me in the case of a medical emergency. Or that in order to "cancel" the contract when you move, you have to jump through hoops. Or that the contract is set to auto renew! So when my father, the primary person taking my child to karate, had to have major reconstructive surgery on his shoulder and couldn't drive my child -Zahand's refused to cancel my contract and told me I would just have to pay it whether or not my daughter was there. And I told them I couldn't take her, not without quitting my job. But their answer remained the same. Then, when I tried to prepare my contract for cancellation for when we move this month -I can't do that either. Why? Because I have to turn in MULTIPLE examples of proof that I have moved. I am moving in with family and I would need a new ID with a new address, utility bill in my name but cell phone bills, non utility bills and letters addressed to me cannot be counted. So a new ID is not enough and because we live with family, I can't get utilities in my name. So therefore, my relocation is void. And I still have to pay. Not only that -but I have to WRITE TO THE COMPANY that Zahand uses to collect payment to stop my contract from auto renewing, which NO ONE told me when I signed my contract. I really wanted to love this place, but now I'm going to be down $400 for classes my daughter couldn't attend. I'm going to have to work for a week straight to pay for it, so it's like I'm working 50 hours for no reason. 50 hours to not see any of that money go to good! Disgusting! I will never sign a contract for an activity again after this. I understand now what questions I should have asked and I'm embarrassed for trusting that Zahands would be understanding of my fathers surgery. It's only after doing some digging that I found other people who had similar issues and face the same financial struggle. Be careful before you sign!! read more

Zahand's Martial Arts is a great place to bring the kids and family. If your looking for somewhere to help encourage you to better yourself you have found the spot! My 3 kids have been students for years, with our oldest in for over 10 now. They are all growing not only in martial arts, but also in great values and discipline. This comes from a wonderful group of instructors. I would highly recommend trying the dojo out. read more

One of my sons and my daughter have been studying since preschool. Both of them have learned a lot from Zahand's. Larry Zahand, is a world renowned martial arts expert and Christian is excellent with the children. They do win trophies, but they also learn so much more. Besides family parties, they participate in community events like parades and Zahand's and supports the importance of grades and positive life values. I didn't know what to expect when I contacted Zahand's Martial Arts about a year ago asking for lessons. I'd been rejected from other schools before because they didn't know how to teach a blind student. I explained to them I'd taken martial arts before and was interested in trying again. With the help of all the instructors and my boyfriend, I've had a great time learning the program they offer--one month each of karate, judo and jujitsu. Testing is 4 times a year. I hope to receive my black belt from them, participate in tournaments and maybe even become a sensei someday. read more

Zahand's is fine, but their billing company is the worst. Beware before you sign the contract, I wish I listened to the other reviews. I called to cancel, they told me I had one month left on my contract and I had to pay that first. Fine, I paid it. Only to find out 2 months later that they didn't cancel my contract, because I had to email a written request to cancel. Never before did they mention that. Of course, they magically don't have record that I even called. Now they are threatening to put it on my CREDIT or pay $200ish for services we never used!! YES, that's right, Zahands can hurt your credit even if you do nothing wrong. read more

Nice instructors but poor business practices. Read the fine print because they will autorenew you and send you to collections if you try to cancel, even if it is due to financial hardship. I was very disappointed in the way they handled our situation and would not recommend them to anyone. read more
