We needed…read morevery detailed plastering done to repair badly damaged walls where many layers of paint had peeled off the drywall around moldings and wainscoting throughout our two bedroom condo. There were also ceilings that needed repair. We had done all of the scraping of loose paint but knew that the plastering would take us a tremendous amount of time so decided to hire a professional plasterer. We'd used a good plasterer in Lowell before but not in the Cape Cod area. Richard Roomey and his crew returned to plaster and sand again several times (a total of 5 visits) until the walls were finally smooth and ready for paint. Mr. Roomey said that if we saw any problem areas after it was primed to call and he would come back to fix them. The price was very reasonable. We appreciated his dedication to getting the project done right and would definitely hire him again.

Summer/Fall 2024 Our…read morehome near South Beach in Edgartown needed to be painted this past summer (2024), and small segments of rotted wood needed replacement. As nearly half-century summer visitors, we have been challenged by rising prices and difficulty performing any service work. As we left a restaurant one evening in Vineyard Haven, we saw a truck with the logo "A-Zeke Painting." I snapped a photo and called several days later. The owner of A-Zeke answered his phone, and one of his foremen evaluated our home in the next few days. A very reasonable estimate (for the Vineyard) followed; replacing rotted wood and other carpentry work was extra and billed by the hour. Work commenced a few weeks later. A crew of workers descended upon our home, scraping, priming, and painting. The dedication and care these workers brought to their jobs impressed my wife and me the most. When they scraped and painted windows or doors, they carefully removed any paint spilled. They cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. When they broke a screen from our porch while removing it, they repaired it carefully. Importantly, they were always helpful and respectful! The carpenter did a superb job of replacing rotten wood. Our home is near South Beach and experiences a continuous stream of moist sea air. The carpenter and his assistant completely reconstructed the exterior of a bay window that had rotted, repaired and resized swollen screen doors, and replaced rotten molding. It was the most painless & pleasant painting/renovation experience in our nearly 50 years on the Vineyard. Can't say enough good things about the quality of workmanship and the care these workers brought to the job!
