Big waste of time and money ! Originally went to Mark Lewis after many solicitations to reduce my property taxes. Decided to try Zap my tax to save money. All they did was get the same results which was nothing and then got me to give them more money for an appeal which was more of a waste of time and money again. They always tell you your neighbors are saving , but in 20 years of living in Crookhaven I have never seen any reduction only increases. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Horrible experience. Terrible service. If you ignore all the reviews, make sure you read all the fine print in contract. They want you to pay their fees based on increases that "you may" receive in future. Meaning, what your taxes would have increased the following year. Worst of all, while trying to get clarification on the additional charges, I was served with papers to show up to court. I highly recommend any other company. Horrible follow up, never get any confirmation email from them that they even received the filing. Have not heard of anything for two years, then boom, I got the bill. I called up the Nassau County tax grievance office, and find out they did file on our behave, the total tax saving for the year was $1,258.00, they want us to pay $997.00. They are rip offs. Do not use this firm for the tax reduction if you have an escrow. They do not have transparency in their contract to let you know that if you pay your mortgage, insurance and taxes with a escrow, you will hardly see any results and get the money to pay them. The invoice can be thousands of dollars and you have to come up with money out your pocket to pay them. Because if you don't, they would send your bill to collection agency with exorbitant amount for legal fees. That does not end there, because if you don't pay them they would take you to court without notifying you until the court and the county sheriff will order to pay or garnish your salary. Then you get notify which is absurd. Save all the trouble and do it yourself. There are a lot resources on the county's website. The main idea is to select 3 recent sales around your home that would not increase the taxes of your home. They probably take 15 min to do this. Don't give your money to them. read more

I appreciate the service representative I spoke with today. She was very helpful and informative. I was very pleased that the company was able to save me a good amount of money. However, I did not know that I ever received a tax reduction and had an outstanding balance to pay?! This is my first time filing a tax grievance and I thought since I never heard back from the company that I did not receive the reduction. I'm currently not living in the residence due to current construction (Fema compliant lifting) so I never received anything in the mail and my phone number on file was incorrect. This company has ripped me apart. Worst Customer Service. I filed for two years in a row. I already filed for the 2nd year, without realizing that they are going to piss me off for the first year. Whenever I called them, the customer service didn't answer my question, after the last bill they sent me a court notice from a lawyer, and I ended up paying more than what I saved, and I don't know even I saved any money in actual.
