I haven't had zappys in years but when I used to order it I would get oranges with my salad which I found weird. Then when I ordered it 10 years later I asked for the oranges just because I would find it weird without it. So it's basically just your basic Cesar but with a lot of dressing and chunks of oranges which make for a really cool combination. I haven't really explored the menu this far but maybe one day I'll try something else. read more

UberEats brings our food from Zappy Pizza place. Nicely packaged, and presented. Excellent amount of food in a reasonable prices. Parts of the food were super tasty and some were average. Sandwiches were delicious. Pizza and battered fish dishes were salty . Salads were the best with their dressings. All I remember was that I went there with my Dad (note: this was about a year ago, but wanted to re-post the review with better grammar). I was in the mood for London Steak; which I hadn't had in a while and is harder to find on menus these days. The platter was filling plus included salad, rice and potatoes. The meal had good flavour, but was a bit salty (mainly the meat from memory) overall, and didn't have the best of pepper steak sauces. I will say again there was no lack of food, and their service was fine. My Dad seemed to like his meal, and it was nice to spend time with him, so that was even more important than the food and service. The dining area is spacious and parking on the street was not hard to find, however, don't forget to feed the meter or you'll get an unwelcome surprise after your meal. read more

Went here for breakfast for the first time today and it was alright. Nothing to write home about, that's for sure. The best part was that we got our food less than five minutes after ordering it. Very casual ambiance and the prices were decent- I got a plate of fruit (4 grapes, 1 piece of cantaloupe, 1 piece of pineapple and one slice of orange), coffee, a small glass of orange juice and a bagel with cream cheese for $12.55- I got 2 breakfast sausages on the side (you can also get bacon or ham) and it is $1.80 extra. While you could make all of this food at home, it is an easy going place if you just want to stroll in somewhere for a quick bite. Service was somewhat slow due to busy time but very friendly overall. The food was amazing with very affordable prices on the menu. I would recommend to all my friends. I HATE GOURMET PIZZA. Pizza should not have shiitake mushrooms or arugula, because that's not a pizza. Thankfully, Zappy does not serve this crap. They serve what I call, and I mean this as a compliment, Dirty Greek Pizza. If you live in Montreal you know what I mean. Most pizza places are old and dirty looking, you probably wouldn't eat there and as with most restaurants in Montreal are owned by Greeks. And they simply make the best tasting pizza. The one you can rely on when you order out. It's gonna be thick, tasty and packed with cheese. Bread and lots of cheese, it what we all love. Thrown in the salty goodness of cheap peperoni and you got yourself some pizza heaven. Being new to Verdun this is where I'll be getting my Pizza until something better comes along. read more

This place is becoming my cheap-and-cheerful go-to place in Verdun. When I don't feel like cooking, I can go and get a decent feed for just a few dollars. The servings are definitely North American sized - and that's just on the specials menu (the 'normal' menu servings are even bigger!). They have a really wide range of items on the menu, which is great for when you're not even sure what you want to have (all you know is that you don't want to make it yourself OR wash up afterwards). I think my favourite so far is the pita gyros (it comes with fries and a salad). Don't go expecting to have a culinary awakening, and you'll be fine. Zappy wins in PRICE and SIZE of their servings (and because their logo is a kangaroo). read more

I went for breakfast. The service was okay, nothing special, and the food came within a decent amount of time.The place is directly across from the hospital so they do a lot of business. It is perhaps for the afore mentioned reason that zappy does not cater to their patrons. The food was okay. The best thing I can say about this place was that the coffee was good 8/10. The eggs rated a 5/10. The French toast a 6.5 & pancakes a 6. From here it sadly goes down, the fruit that came with it was bad, I give it a 3. The potatoes a 2, were worse than the fruit and just gross. The ketchup was the pretend kind, that tastes like someone's trying to poison you. However, the peanut butter was kraft (go figure). The whole experience is Meh. Expect cheap food, cheap quality but fast service. Im sure everything comes out a box or a can.

Keeping in mind that this place is purely cheap and easy food - pizza and deep fried stuff. The pizza is good. I used to order from them all the time - for delivery. They had good trios, and it was decent. However they DO NOT deliver their food anymore and you have to eat in their restaurant. So I guess I am no longer a patron. :P read more

Zappy's good. The 6.75 lunch special is always worth it, plenty of choices plus a yummy chicken soup. Breakfasts are generous, almost more than I can eat so I sometimes order the Western sandwich. I can't recommend it, though. It's delicious but cheap...maybe two eggs, not the stacked sammy that you get in many other diners. Waitresses are great. I've been a client of Zappy's for 25 years. I used to go with my Grandma and as I grew older I eventually went with my Mother and now my Wife. I always loved the kind staff, the quality of the food and the courteous and accommodating owner. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. The service was mediocre at best and the food took longer to arrive than it used to. I was not surprised that the price of the items on the "Specials" menu were raised (I assumed it was due to inflation and not the owners greed), nor by the mentioning of an extra 1$ being added for take out of any item on the "Specials" menu. What came to my surprise was that you would be charged an extra 1$ even if you sat down to eat, were unable to eat the entire meal and decided you would take the remainder home. This is exactly what happened to my wife and I yesterday. After being informed by our waitress that there would be an additional 1$ charge I asked to see the owner (who was walking around greeting customers with a smile and welcoming gestures). She brought the menu back again (which I'm entirely familiar with) and pointed to the mention of there being an extra 1$ for take out of any item on the "Specials" menu. I told her that I was not illiterate and that it's pretty clear that it mentions an extra 1$ being added if you order from the "Specials" menu for immediate take out. It did not in any way say that this would apply if you eat in, are unable to finish your plate, and decide to take the remainder of your meal home. I must add that we had done this in the past and not once were we charged an extra dollar. I once again asked to speak to the manager. She left, spoke to him herself, apparently, only to return and tell me that it would be an extra 1$, no exceptions. I indicated to her that I would refuse to pay and proceeded to the door. This seemed to finally warrant the owners attention who ran angrily towards me hurling insults and asking me why I would refuse to pay. I was very clear in stating that I was a loyal and long time customer and that I would never be returning or recommending this place to anyone. He responded with an "I don't care if you never come back" and "I've never seen you here before". After 25 years of being a client and hundred's of visits I was left feeling like at the end of the day, money is all that mattered to him and not the customers satisfaction. I paid, but I'll never be returning to Zappy's nor would I recommend this establishment to anyone who cares about respect or being viewed as more than just a big dollar sign. read more
