I popped in for a super quick look - I was contemplating getting a coffee but then thought better of it seeing it was already late afternoon. I did notice that Papercup don't just do coffee though, there's also a small selection of cakes on offer. Forty is the clothing side of things and while it's not my kind of thing (edgy streetwear), they did have some nice stuff and tshirts. There's also Safehands Barbers so you can get a whole new look with a cut and some clothes. In this area, I can't think of any other independent coffee shops so I'd definitely pop back for a coffee next time I'm in Royal Exchange Square.

I had a quick look around, it's a nice space, clothes and sneakers downstairs, barber through the back, Papercup up front. A nice modern addition to Royal Exchange Square, the logo for the Forty range were designed by the owners kid, which is a nice touch, and I'm so happy that Papercup are now in the city centre! Definitely be back to do some shopping, and of course, get some good coffee!!

My partner and I stopped by Glasgow Vintage Co our last day in Glasgow. There are a few vintage…read morestores around this area, but of the bunch, this one definitely had the best selection. When you walk in, you clearly get the vibe that this is a university student's frequent haunt. As we shopped here, students came in and out, receive a discount, and generally have their needs met with the types of clothing available. However, the selection of clothes in the store isn't so student oriented that a wider audience won't be able to find something of interest. The first floor is more women's oriented, with tartan featuring prominently. The second floor is men's, which had some decent selections of Fred Perrys and the like. When we were there, the store was staffed just by a couple girls on the first floor, and they were pretty deep in conversation with each other. Didn't bother us at all, but perhaps don't expect to have staff catering to your every need here. But if you just like to do your thing and browse through the racks, you should be well sorted.,

TL;DR bad quality, overpriced, cheeky response. Would like…read moreto say the staff member on when I was in was lovely. However... I spent good money (too much) on trousers that had an irreparable defect that I did not notice until I put them on at home. I understand this is a risk with 2nd hand clothing, and places don't accept returns etc, but I do draw the line at paying ~£30 for something I literally can't wear. I messaged their instagram page about it and expressed my disappointment that they weren't willing to reconcile this in any way (I said I felt this was poor customer service) and the message I received back was so cheeky I am honestly in disbelief. So here I am doing the only thing I can do since I've literally wasted my money.

Montrose fills the gap perfectly stocking Engineered Garments, Beams, CP Company and many more lines to come. It's a beautiful store. Opens up wife at the back with very cool fridges for accessories. The Web site is still under development. So it seems we are having a resurgence of menswear in Glasgow, with END opening a huge store in Merchant City this year too. Montrose is a very smart and welcome addition.

THIS STORE IS HORRIBLE ONLINE. This is an email I sent them days ago now after having other emails…read moreunreplied to that details the nightmare that has been my experience with them. "Good afternoon, I order a lot of stuff online from many questionable sources, so I have a very high tolerance for dealing with dumb stuff, but my experience with your store has been far and away the worst I have ever experienced in my life. Let me summarize for you the ridiculous things that have happened while I was trying to spend money at your store. First of all your checkout was broken as hell and it took me 3 tries to check out. Since it took me so long, the Teal Rick Owens Hike shirt I was trying to purchase sold out, and I was unable to purchase. After completing my order I was charged through paypal for the full total. But then, the order didn't ship. So you had my money but there was no indication the status of my order. It took TWO WEEKS to ship, and in that time I emailed customer service multiple times and got no response. NONE AT ALL. Finally the package shipped - but only half my items shipped. The worst part of this is that the items that shipped were not the two I wanted most, but rather the two I had added to help justify the cost of shipping. Still no word on whether or not the other 2 items had been canceled. Also, when the two items shipped I was AGAIN CHARGED for the value + tax + shipping on those two items. So now I have been DOUBLE CHARGED and I'm only getting half my items. Today the package arrived and when I opened it I noticed the two items that didn't ship were simply crossed off on my invoice in red pen. No cancellation email, no monetary refund, JUST CROSSED OUT ON THE INVOICE. As frosting on the cake, one of the two items you did send me, the shoes, ARE ENTIRELY THE WRONG COLORWAY. I ordered vans in black suede with a snakeskin stripe, and I received grey Vans with a burgundy stripe. I want to know what you're going to do to make this right. Quite frankly I think it is utterly ridiculous that I'm even having to deal with this. I want you to take the shoes back - and I'm not paying for shipping back. I want my money back for the double charge and the items I didn't get. And I think I should be refunded the shipping cost too since I've now only gotten ONE ITEM I actually wanted and I would have never bought that one item alone because of the high cost of shipping." I HAVE HEARD NOTHING BACK AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO MAKE THIS RIGHT.

As for the fashion, well i have to be honest and say I've only ever bought socks from here. Good socks, admittedly, but I'm not sure the quality is matched by the rest of the stock which appears to be a little tired and dated. Worth a look though for every day essentials.

It has good quality materials and this is reflected in decent - not taking the pee - prices. However, my main YAY! for this shop does come solely from an experience which happened a couple of weeks ago. The boy's mother came up to Glasgow for the day and while I was hard at work, they went for a stroll. On this stroll, the boy was bought some brand new, spanking clean socks by his mother. Not, really the kind of thing I would normally make a big deal of. But for the past month he'd been wearing either socks with massive holes in them or purple thermal numbers of mine. Who knew a pair of new, clean black socks could be so so sexy??
