(usually around 45minutes) Deliveries are free for orders over £12 and within the hove, portslade, hangleton, shoreham and southwick area. I have only ever had take away's from here but it is also a restaurant too for those who prefer to go out for a meal.

I ordered a take away from this restaurant though the website Just Eat. It was easy to order and…read moreseemed to be processed really quickly. The menu included all te classics plus some unusual chefs specials. We requested a delivery time of "as soon as possible" and was a little disappointed when we were told it was going to take an hour - I was starving at this point! However, delivery time was spot-on so can't really complain... The restaurant phoned within ten minutes of us placing the order to say they were out of one of the sides. When I said that I didn't want to replace it with anything else, they were quite insistent that this was necessary so that the price would remain the same. I could understand this if I had already paid but I had requested payment on delivery! It took quite a lot of insistence on my part that I really didn't want a replacement dish!! When the food arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find a few extras thrown in - i'm never going to say no to free food even if some did end up going to waste. The food was pretty good quality however, the lamb rogan josh was a little greasy and left a few lurid yellow stains on the work surfaces and all over my hands - God knows what its done to my insides! All in all, a reasonably good take away and easy to use. There are better Indian restaurants in the area but would use these guys again for sheer convenience. Can't comment on the restaurant side of things, i'm not even entirely sure that they have one...

A bit on the pricier side, but the atmosphere is also quite nice / upscale so there's that. It's definitely it your local Indian where most of the business comes from deliveries. This seems to be quite a touristy place but not in a bad way. It's located inside the Lanes and so it's very central. I really enjoyed the meal and would certainly come back for their food.

The bright lights, colorful…read moredecorations, and amazing service were all super memorable parts of my visit to the Chilli Pickle! For dinner, I sat at the communal table and ordered the Set Menu (Veg), which started with a huge platter of pappadum along with pickled onions and three different types of chutneys/jams. Then there was the Chilli Pickle Cornflake Mix, a reinvented version of "Bombay mix" containing cornflakes, lentils, peanuts, chickpeas, flaked rice, cashews, pecans, raisins, and more! This was so crunchy and delicious that I even asked to take the rest home after the meal! On the waiter's recommendation, I tried the pani puri for my appetizer, a typical Indian street food made of puri (a deep-fried puff) filled with potato, chickpeas, and chutney--it also came with a tamarind water on the side, which you poured into the puris before eating. While this was an interesting dish, there was very little flavor to the little puffs, and I thought these was skippable. For my main, I chose the Punjabi Aubergine Curry, made with soft pieces of eggplant in a sauce of tamarind, coconut, and peanuts. It came with a cucumber/tomato/red onion salad and a huge, fresh piece of onion roti on the side. The onion roti was pure perfection--the edges were puffy and chewy, while the inner part was thin and crispy; it had a nice nutty flavor from the whole wheat flour and was the perfect vessel for dunking in the curry! Overall a decent dish, but the flavors and spices were definitely toned down, and the sauce had a more sweet/mild flavorful than other Indian curries I've had.

I have heard a few people describe this place as the best Indian restaurant in Brighton. Whilst I…read moredon't think I've eaten in enough to warrant corroborating that statement, I can say I ate here recently and it was pretty damn good! What I particularly like about Shahi Tandoori is that it is split into two quite separate spaces, one side is the restaurant and one is the takeaway. This is genius! There's nothing more annoying than people wandering through while you're eating to pick up their order, letting a draft in and spoiling the ambiance of the restaurant. Well Shahi has it covered. Food-wise, the side dishes are all great...I particularly like the Bombay Aloo, the Sag Paneer and the Onion Bhajis- delicious! I can also recommend the Vegetable Balti and Chicken Tikka Masala. Since this place is just around the corner, we often pop down to pick up a few side dishes to go with a home-cooked curry and they never look at us funny, despite our paltry order! I like them.

You can never have enough good quality Indian restaurants (so says I), without doubt Shahi Tandoori…read moredeserves to be added to that category. It's located in an odd place at the bottom of Ditchling Rise, because of the location you might never have come this way, I really would recommend it though. 'Shahi' is a little bit cheaper then the more central Indian restaurants (and take aways, they do both). The food is also of a very good quality; I had the rogan josh and passanda, both of which I could eat 7 days a week. The area isn't the nicest, the decor is a little dated, but it's a fantastic place filled with Indian charm (and food).
