Zara's Edison location is getting 5-stars for one reason and her name is Gina S. Great customer service was hard to find pre-Covid . Post-COVID? Forget about it! Gina S. has me convinced there's hope. First, she looks like she should be modeling for Zara instead of working in the store. Secondly, I walked in with a bag of items I purchased yesterday which I needed to exchange for a different size (note: dressing rooms are closed). I had no idea the layout of a store could change so extremely overnight. Gina S. helped me find every piece. She whipped around this store with a positive attitude...she wanted to help me. Gina S. is relentless and energetic. She clearly loves working here and it comes out in her attitude. It would have taken me HOURS to find all of these pieces. I don't know how long she's been working here or what her goals are; but Gina S. needs to be in management...STAT! Due to an encounter I had with a manager named Sarah yesterday (after another clerk accidentally charged me twice for one transaction because she was busy talking about her zodiac sign and moon rising with another cashier during checkout), I doubt if Gina S.' disposition is a reflection of training she's received. They are nice enough to let me open the package in the dressing room to try. This way, if I don't like it, I can just return it right then and there. My favorite items from Zara are their bodysuits. It's easy to layer with and they make them well. I own a lot of it. I also love their button down shirts, I think it drapes beautifully on a woman's body. Their outerwear of faux leather jackets and wool coats are stylish and affordable. They have a TFR line that seems to cater to younger women. I usually get their T-shirts from this line. My son grew up wearing Zara from the Kids department. Super cute stuff. Let's just say he dressed better than his mom sometimes in his cute leather jackets. I think the men's department is a bit too trendy for older gentlemen but hey, maybe some men can pull it off. Sequins are super hot this fall/winter. I own a couple of sweaters and jackets from Zara, all bought at this Menlo Park Mall location. Zara is like a nicer, edgier version of fellow fast fashion giant H&M -- but still within a reasonable price range. Aside from their very strict return policy, Zara is a good place to look for last minute tops, date night outfits, and trendy pieces. Their jeans generally run very small and so do the sleeves on long-sleeved tops. Still I've found a few favorites from this store and will continue to check back in once in a while to browse. I agree with a previous reviewer that it's good to check the seams of the clothing for holes and irregularity because not all items are created equally. Other than that, the store is well placed in the mall, near a main entrance, it's clean and in every case, the staff has been processional. I do think it's ridiculous that there are absolutely NO returns without a receipt - even if you have the credit card you purchased the item with, and even if you're willing to accept a store credit or exchange the old items for new ones. I love the clothes at Zara but I haven't shopped there in a year and I'll tell you why.... I came in one time with sweatpants, a tshirt and sandals. I have a great job with great pay but I was ready to spend a lot but I received no help from the staff. They were folding clothes about 2 feet away from me and talking among each other and none of them seem to realize that I needed help...So i left. Part 2: I wanted to test the staff at this site and finally wore my work clothes to the store the next day. What I received was the customer service I finally desired. After 2 minutes of perfect customer service I told the guy "I came in a few days ago with sweats and a t-shirt looking for help and no one gave me help. You were there I remember you.", no apology from him or recognition of the situation. In love with this store! They always have such trendy and cute tops. I love all the embroidery and different fabrics they have incorporated in their designs. Pricing is a bit on the higher end but the quality is good and they do have regular sales where you can find some killer deals. The store has a wide selection of clothing, shoes, purses and jewelry for women, men and kids! The staff here is also helpful. Only downside is you must have your recipet to return anything. My friend gifted me a sweater and I wanted to exchange it for a different color and they wouldn't allow it. I visited a few days after Christmas on a weekend so the merchandise was not as organized as it could have been, the store was crowded, and the wait in line felt like purgatory. I would like to point out how the employees were actively working as best as they could, given the situation. The cash registers were fully manned, there were sales associates on the floor greeting customers and putting clothes back. There were what seemed like endless racks of clothes to put back on display. There was no wait in the fitting rooms and the staff greeted and took back unwanted items with a smile. A higher quality H&M but still affordable. What I enjoy most about this store is the types of coats and jackets that are available. Naturally, their Broadway location boasts items that you won't find in Menlo Park, but for Menlo Park the selection is above average. I tried on several coats that were priced at $159 or less, and each coat looked good. Unfortunately, the cuts aren't meant for athletic builds. So if you're a 46R/34W like me, you'll have to try on every coat to find one that fits. Hopefully you won't mind walking towards the mirror next to the cash wrap because that's the only mirror on the sales floor. For the quality of clothing, I think the pricing is generally on point. You will come across jeans that have no business being sold at $90. Do yourself a favor and head down to Macy's to pick up a pair of Levi's. I use to buy so much from this store and I will not be purchasing anything from her again. If you plan on returning something for store credit if it doesn't fit, don't bother, after 30 days they will not even give you that. I normally wear a size 27 and their pants here run tight so I ordered a 28, ended up being too big and I couldn't even exchange them for a smaller size. Their shoes ended up being too tight and I have always ordered the same size from them.
