I had a meeting scheduled which I waited for. It was scheduled for 5PM but she had called way after that; that's not an issue though as I gave it some wiggle-room. It started off fine and formal but she was pace-policing immediately, so if I said anything more than she wanted to hear, she'd interject. And the thing is, I know how this dance goes. I only give pertinent information during this call, they're not therapists or partners, they're intake assistants. They handle the brunt of the emotion and potential plaintiffs and defendants. I would wait patiently even though she'd constantly snap-interject over whatever I was saying. She'd constantly interrupt what I was saying to add unnecessary and pointed interrogatives, like "okay, yeah but who?" and I would be like "...the next word I was going to say was literally their name. Why do you keep doing that? Why do you keep interjecting like that? You keep interrupting and not letting me talk every time I speak." And she ignored my question, she just pretended like I didn't ask her anything and continued on with the interview. Then whenever I'd ask her a minute question like if she needed anything, she wouldn't respond at all. She wouldn't acknowledge my questions or inquiries, and she'd only resume when she wanted to. So I just patiently put up with it but she got petty about it. Eventually, once again - she kept doing the thing where she would interrupt me to ask redundantly about the thing I was about to say, like she knew she was being obnoxious. Eventually I was saying how I was mistreated and I used an F-bomb as in "The company got caught red-fuckin'-handed" and once again, she starts talking over me and was like, "LET'S KEEP THIS PROFESSIONAL, WE'RE ALL PROFESSIONALS HERE, NO BAD LANGUAGE" and while she was doing that we got disconnected, and I don't know if she hung up on me on purpose or if I or someone near me bumped my phone, and we tried calling each other back. She left a voicemail saying she doesn't know what happened but if I want to work with her, call her back. I called back, she picked up the phone and left it off the hook for five minutes. She was talking to someone else in the background but she just left it off the hook after telling me to call back. I thought she might've just wanted me to wait on hold or something, and then she just hung up on me after a few minutes and didn't answer the next time I called. It's a concern because if I were a plaintiff in this case, and I needed immediate intervention and assistance from someone from Valli Kane, and she was behaving like that and was the one handling the inbound communication? We'd be detrimentally fucked. Strategically she is a liability, and I really didn't appreciate the way she treated me. Please be careful guys!

They only asked about one facet of my claim and did not ask me to elaborate on more serious allegations. Then they called me back to tell me they weren't taking my claim, which wasn't a surprise because they clearly didn't care about my case from the beginning. On top of this, they replied rudely to my Google review and implied that I was "troubled". If you're going to consider this firm just note that you have less than 15 minutes to concisely "sell" your case to these people and you better talk slowly or you're going to be yelled at.

After about 2 years, we decided to change firms and asked for all correspondence related to the case and the investigator, but Brill's firm could not produce any informative emails or updates with the investigator. Most of the communication was "calls" and "voicemails", but nothing that showed progress or an attempt to bring closure. Brill's firm is either too busy (likely) or doesn't care enough (possible) to help with cases deemed "less significant" to them. In short, 2 years later we're in the same spot we were, and we are currently evaluating new representation. For example, a simple two-second phone call reminding you of a court date--something you didn't even request--costs $50. An email is $150, and sending an email on your behalf is $250. Her hourly rate is $600, and she charges $600 for travel and $60 to $100 for parking. To review her own file before going to court costs $400. The basic things for any lawyer to do is meet with their client before any hearing she does not even though she did not see or hear from the person for over 6 months. How can you speak for that person? And turn around charge the person $4500 for that 30 minutes court hearing? If that is not scam I really do not know what is . For her to show up for a hearing, it could cost you between $3,000 and $4,000. She seems indifferent to her clients, focusing only on dragging out cases. Whenever the opposing side makes requests, she does not advocate for her clients; she allows things to drag on unnecessarily. A friend of mine hired her, and she completely ruined them. They had to file for bankruptcy, and the other side won everything. She lied to them throughout the hearing and essentially sold them out to the opposing side. If you are currently represented by her, I urge you to leave; it will not get better, and you may face serious consequences. Her retainer fee is $5,000, which quickly disappears in charges. It's a shame to see how divorce court allows people like her to exploit vulnerable individuals. She was even late for court once, and when the person called to check on her arrival, they were charged $160 for that brief phone call. A case that should take three months to a year took over four years. For a trial, she charges over $12000 for just that one day. Ultimately, the individual lost everything and is now homeless. I will go on every platform and expose this person. She should not allowed to scam and misleading people like that.
