My Boyfriend has Erin Pippin as his public defender for a child support case in Shelby County Kentucky since the beginning of 2026. He was severely injured with a broken leg which caused back pay in his child support. He was unable to drive or work. It's been a disaster since the beginning. She didn't show up to court on his behalf had her representative show up instead. They knew nothing about the case and had none of his medical documents to present to the judge. He was on a zoom call trying to pay a good amount, but was told it wasn't enough. Assuming and trusting that Erin would be in contact and was handling the matter on his behalf was a huge mistake on his part and we take accountability for that. She did nothing. She disappeared was no where to be found. My boyfriend was calling of course she was never in the office & her staff had every excuse. Fast forward to months later he is pulled over for a taillight and cops realize there's a warrant. They arrest him on the spot. He was booked with no bail or purge. He has been sitting in jail in horrible conditions, and no one is explaining what the next steps will be. In attempting to advocate for my boyfriend, myself and his family members have called Erin's office and left countless messages with her secretaries Halla & Bonnie who are sadly the middlemen having to hear complaints and take the brunt of our frustration (which I've apologized for) because their boss refuses to return/ answer calls or respond back to the numerous emails I have sent on his behalf due to limited resources in jail. We had another attorney try to help and contact her as well, but unfortunately he is limited to information regarding the case bc it is confidential which is understandable, however if she does not want to do her job I asked her to please unassigned herself off the case, so we can change the appointed counsel to someone who will actually be willing to do their job and help. It's been 15 days and counting, Erin has done absolutely NOTHING to help him. She was so rude after finally speaking to her once. She informed me that she could not speak to me about anything and the only person she will talk to is my Boyfriend. When I asked her if she was going to answer his call from jail which she never did, her response was "maybe if I don't have clients." I understand as a public defender those cases may not a top priority, however allowing a man who's been willing to pay to get current on his payments sit in jail for 180 days (per his paperwork) for a child support case is disgraceful. She refused to go to the Shelby county jail to speak to him in person which is not far from her office from what I was told by her secretary, nor is she willing to file a motion with the judge to get him some type of deal. Mind you I'm in California which is a 3 hour difference, so I'm waking up at 4am to make calls, send emails and get some type of help from anyone I can to at least get him bailed/ purged out every single day. I have never dealt with a lawyer who is so CARELESS and UNPROFESSIONAL! I'm starting to think this is personal. And if it's not, this shows her true character & her horrible work ethic which is unacceptable. I DON'T ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO HIRE THIS WOMAN. She clearly is abusing her power simply because she can which is sad. I have begged and pleaded. She doesn't even have the decency to reply back to my emails. I have no choice but to report her to the DPA and I will also be filing a complaint with the Kentucky Bar Association. You would think being an attorney for 19 years she would have a level of integrity and respect no matter the client or situation, unfortunately that is not the case. If this is the way you handle your clients/ cases, you should no longer be an attorney. She is worthless and from the other reviews I've read clearly I'm not the only one she is doing this to. I will not stop advocating for my boyfriend and his basic human rights. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS
