This is free too. It's a mostly flat walk. I loved how blue the entrance fountain was. The statues surrounding the gardens are stunning. The best part is the rose garden. Roses weren't really in season when we visited, but there were a few still in bloom and they were gorgeous. We saw someone nearby sketching them. The fountain at the garden has plenty of coy fish to check out. This is a lovely, free spot.

The people are generally friendly and flexible. Volunteer duties generally involve sorting and re-packaging donated goods for distribution to local charities. If you're looking for ways to contribute to the community, this is a good place to go. Approximately 75% of the food bank's labor hours are provided by volunteers so they're open and appreciative of volunteers.

When you show up they are ready for you with a plan and they are thankful for your help. There is plenty of work to do while you are there so you feel like you are making a difference but they do not compel you to stay longer than your assigned shift- which I appreciate. You work hard for the time you are their and they respect your time. They do great work in the community and I am happy to have helped them out on three occasions now. I look forward to returning.

There have been two separate times in the span of two years that a disabled man has gotten out of…read morethis place and broken into mine AND my neighbors homes. This place is HORRIBLE and they leave multiple people under the care of one person. Last time, the woman was fired. This time it is a completely different man who broke in and a different person who was supposedly "taking care" of him. This place needs to be shut down. It is the location on 343 Lindsay Rd, Gansevoort, NY. Nobody is doing anything about this and one of these people is likely going to get injured if this keeps happening. Absolutely ridiculous.
