This is such a common, blah, run-of-the-mill, nothing sort of bar that it's hard to believe my sister and I even ended up here one drizzly Friday night. It was one of those situations where we'd been out all day running around London, found ourselves in Soho and wanted to extend our night with a drink, but really didn't feel spiffy enough to head to any of our preferred nightspots - nor did we want to settle for the typical pub either. Hence, *Zebrano* - whatever that means... It's always a wonder to me how places like this stay in business, let alone continue to attract droves of customer, but the bar was buzzing enough for us to take it as a semi-good sign and we decided to have a go. Inside we found an uninspiring bar, a cocktail list of drinks that sounded suspiciously weak and sugary, and grimy black tables - but plenty of people! After ordering a couple of vodka tonics (playing it safe) we decided that the real action was definitely outside and went back out in search of a table and a heat lamp. And it was there that we learned what the Zebrano scene is all about... men stared (ludicrously), but didn't approach, some girl was doing her darndest to impress a bloke with a childhood tap-dance routine, and every time a bit of pickup conversation drifted our way it was just pathetically inane - entertaining - but inane... ummm... *why* am I here again? Seriously, even if you're feeling a bit shabby, but still crave a bar scene, there *must* be a better option somewhere in Soho than this... (I'll let you know when I find it). read more

While in London my cousin and I came across Carnaby Street. We thought it was really cute so decided to find a place to have a nice lunch in. We came across Zebrano because there was a guy outside giving out flyers with some awesome deals. 2 courses plus a glass of wine or beer for i think....10 pounds and then 3 courses for a bit more. Since it was chilly and we were starving we decided to go in and check it out. There weren't many people there but it was a weekday and before 5pm. Our waiter was very attentive and I don't remember waiting long for our food. I had a goat cheese salad that was pretty much to die for and my burger was perfection. I heard so many horror stories about food in London. I'm glad I didn't have to experience it at! read more

The bar is split in two levels, ground floor is a normal pub that serves beers and drinks and has few tables outside, downstairs lounge room with table and a small dance floor. Don't stop the beat at Zebrano, because the vibe is right and the music out of sight! Here you'll find a laid back trendy crowd that dances all night to the beat of house music. I came here fro a friend's birthday and was delighted by the atmosphere! Upstairs you'll find a small dance area, a few tables and a bar, which is great for conversation. Downstairs is where the party is happening! My friend rented out an area that was comfortable enough for 30 people and away from the crowd. The staff here were very kind in assisting with the cake and were helpful throughout the night. The only drawback is that the place completely closes down at 2am. read more

Just off Carnaby Street, this is my favorite Bar, probably in the world (and ive been to many places). It is set up like an exclusive club, yet without the pretentiousness, and the prices. The bar staff are all not only friendly but also well skilled, and the drinks are well priced (for London). It is also a great place to dance, they have a reasonably sized dance floor and a a great DJ who bangs out Funky House all night. I absolutely love this place, its only flaw is that it is only open until 1am, which means you have to find somewhere to go once it has closed.. read more

Another spot I visited frequently while visiting London. Went here for drinks. The drinks are not expensive at all and they had a special going while I was there too which made it even better. The ambiance was nice and met a lot of friendly people while there too and they welcomed me with open arms during my stay. This place gets busy and it's loud (it also seems to be more of a Friday night party scene almost all nights) but the cocktails are good. I had the Cosmo and Pornstar Martini - both tasty. I especially like that the side of Prosecco with the Pornstar Martini is served in the glass. They do an excellent happy hour - whoop whoop. If you are looking for a club atmosphere (with good music) or some happy hour cocktails, this is the place to go. read more

Two words: Happy. Hour. I have only been to Zebrano for drinks during happy hour, and I will most likely continue to visit Zebrano solely for the happy hour. The actual bar itself is nothing special. The ambiance, to me, is slightly tacky. The music is too loud, and often from the Top 40s list from the early 2000s. However, cocktails are decent and during happy hour they're half off!!! None of that 2-4-1 business, which means you and your friend aren't forced to drink the same thing. Zebrano is definitely a good place to start your night, but there's nothing particularly special about it. If they got rid of happy hour, I would have no reason to return! read more

I came here on a Thursday evening for an after-work happy hour with co-workers. Being used to American happy hours at pretty standard pubs, this was definitely a different vibe, but it was fun overall. First, we went downstairs to where we'd booked a table. There were 11 of us, so we got their Thursday night deal, which is this: Book a table of 10 or more people and receive a free round of appetizers, 5 beers, a bottle of champagne, and a round of shots for FREE. There was really no catch, which shocked us all. The shots were pretty much just fruit juice, but everything else was legit. The vibe was very clubby, which is fine, except felt weird for a Thursday at 7pm. You can lose track of time very easily there. My group ended up buying a few bottles and spending the majority of our night there; we had our own little corner booth with a table and seats for everyone, so it was like our own party. The music was typical, top 40-type stuff, although the DJ wasn't too keen on taking requests (refusing to play any hip-hop that may have the N-word in it...I assume he'd have censored versions, no?!). Anyway, I wouldn't go here on my own with friends, just because it was not really my scene, but it was definitely a good time for an after-work happy hour-turned-night-out. read more

Oh my goodness, it's free pour here and I just about remember how I got home. That said, you are paying for the free pour, it's about £7 for a mixed drink. The music was pretty varied, from top 40's to 80's classics. We had a good laugh in the bar, although it did seem like a bit of a meat market otherwise. There is really nothing special about Zebrano and probably the best thing is the outdoor seating area. For an ordinary place playing chart RnB music it is a crime that they can get away with such steep prices. Zebrano is one of those places that uses its West End location to imply that it is an upmarket stylish bar. Well it's NOT. The wannabee WAGS and office workers leering over the gyrating girls confirms that this isn't the trendy bar it would like to be. I have been here once, obviously unaware that it more or less like Yates disguised as a cool venue with a pretentious name. Zebrano is not for me but obviously others disagree because it always seems to be busy! I would have to be really drunk to set foot in Zebrano again. read more

My friend and I were looking for a place to get some early dinner before a show at the Palladium Theatre and we ended up here because it looked appealing and the menu was decently priced for central London. I don't know if it was an off day, but the service was terrible. The main issue was that only one server was waiting on all of the tables. There seemed to be other staff around, but they were too busy chatting and doing nothing. The one server wasn't the best either. When we arrived, the server physically pushed my friend out of her way because he had a full tray instead of being polite and saying "excuse me". After we were seated she proceeded to forget to bring us our drinks twice. I ordered a burger that took way too long considering they weren't very busy and my sweet potato fries were cold when they arrived. After we ate, it took so long to get any of the staff's attention to get the bill. They were much too busy chatting. I'm pretty sure we could have walked right out of the restaurant without paying and they would have been none the wiser. The icing on this terrible cake was that a service charge was included in the bill. I almost had them take it off, but it wasn't enough money to make such a big deal. Long story short, this place has terrible service and mediocre food. I won't be back. read more

I came here because I enjoyed the Greek Street location so much, and thought, "Hey! It's the same company, it'll be nice!" and invited a few friends to go hang out and have dinner. This location is much smaller, and they tried to cram as many tables and people on the main floor as possible. We were sat near the steps of the bar, so we felt like we were in the way as there was a lot of traffic going by our table and many time interrupted our table. Food was pretty good, almost as consistent as the other location. When it came to paying, I showed my Gourmet Society card, and they only gave me 10% off the food bill, but wait, GS only offers 50%, 25% or 2 for 1. 10% is not any of the those things, they were reluctant giving me what was listed in the Gourmet Society website, but they did it anyway. I think this location has potential, especially because they have a patio area, something the other location does not have. read more

this is a pretty decent bar. I came here early last night with a date, it was pretty dead being a week day and rather early. But I have been here on a friday years ago when it was packed full of peanuts. One note that makes this place great: Awesome happy hour prices! selected beers and coctails half off. Way!!! Some birthday drinks were relocated here after the first place was double booked, we ended up here on the Carnaby Street Style Night and the area was heaving with people. We quickly grabbed a table and then as other tables left, grabbed them and slowly added them to ours, which filled up as more of our group arrived. A couple of us had burgers which were filling, but not fantastic. Happy hour was decent but you had to go downstairs if you wanted anything more complicated than a whiskey coke (more a problem for the girls). All in all, if you're in the area and you need a drink, it's one of several in the area, not better or worse than the others, but they have a fair amount of seating and their happy hour goes on for quite a while. read more

Not a bad bar. Good value at happy hour (BOGOF until 8pm on most week nights), with an extensive cocktail menu. Cocktails were delicious - nice and fruity however service was very slow considering there was only a few of us in a massive bar. Recommend "Deep Passion". The ambiance was some what lacking however it was early on in the evening. This the first time I had to leave a restaurant before getting the meal. We waited 45 minutes for our lunch appetizers, but the waiter kept saying they're busy and not "fast food". Two of our appetizers were veggies and humus. Then I noticed other patrons getting really agitated. The waiter finally came back and told us they are just prepping our food for cooking and it would be another 20 minutes at least. No one was apparently In the kitchen during this lunch period. The waiter was apologetic, but we had to leave, as did the tables around us. If you're in a hurry, be aware this can happen here. read more

I don't really get this place. It feels like a Wetherspoons but with some music. And not very enjoyable music at that. It's decked out OK, but it's nothing special. It's certainly not as special as the door staff like to think. My trip here was a classic case of there being loads of room inside, but there was still a queue of people outside. Why? I'm not bothered by this place. I wouldn't make a point of coming here again and I wouldn't be thrilled by it, but if I was with the right people I might have fun. read more

Arrived at the bar and headed to the bar where we eventually got served once the barmaid had finished her conversations. Presented our vouchers and were told that they were only for the downstairs bar. She then rolled her eyes and asked for the money for the drinks. Without the voucher disount that is. Zebrano Bar claims to be famous for its burgers, and they are not bad. Had lunch with my girlfriend over the weekend, and have to say her duck with noodles looked better than my burger! Atmosphere is friendly, service was charming but not sharp - forgot drinks then brought the wrong ones, food was with us in 10 mins - and I like the place. Clean and smart, and in a lovely part of town, I think the fact that people chose this place over a whole street of restaurants says a lot. Some outside seating. There's never too much of a queue to get in and often you can even pick up a flyer outside to get 2 for 1 drinks. Went in here today to grab some hot drinks with friends. When we ordered hot chocolates, the server told us they were out along with many of the hot drinks on the menu. She did however tell us they had green tea so we decided to go with that. A few minutes later the server came over once gain and informed us that they did not have our selection, in fact the only hot drink they had left was black coffee and that they really didn't do hot drinks. We were tempted in by the drinks offers when we were flyered quite a way up the street, I was on a night out with university friends from newcastle, so yeah, we're used to cheap, boozey nights. As we walked down the street though, misogyny siren started to whirr. These deals that were being handed out (these were a promotion you needed the flyer to fulfil), were only being handed to groups of girls, pretty girls, girls in low-cut dresses, girls with excellent legs (which, you know, it's not the fifties, people are allowed to have), I don't know if this is down to the staff themselves, or on order, the old, fill the bar with pretty girls, and the men will spend the money. Now, when I go out, I expect to pay my way, as do my friends, rounds, who's counting, it's what we do, it comes about even. When I go on dates, I like the person I'm out with to offer, I like to offer, there might be a cheque dance, it's nice, I'm happy to split, I'm happy to take turns in paying, again, it comes about even. Yes, some women like to be paid for, that's their bag, I know some men who prefer to split on first dates to make sure that it isn't just a free meal deal, and setting yourself up for constant billing. (And no, I won't bite your head off if you hold a door for me, I just like to be polite, and make my friends and my partner feel appreciated etc too). This bar goes against all of that, and with intense fervour! In this bar SO LOUD, they seem to encourage needing to practically tongue somebody's ear to be heard, so much so, that a? t one point, my friend and i gave up, and typed on my phone to one another, rather than yell at the top of our lungs within innermost intimate quarters, lips against eardrum. One thing, that is amazingly impressive though, the hearing of the shotgirls. Man, they say dogs have great hearing? We have a new elite! These, of course, absolutely stunning girls, are able to hear a compliment from fifty metres, AND POUNCE, there, in his ear, like the beginning of a human centipede, joined at the lobe, somehow, simultaneously beaming at you, "Oh, you think her hair is cool do you? Why don't you buy her a drink? You guys want shots? Do you like vodka, sweetie?" wryly spoken, with a wink. Necks recoiling, eyes wide for the double take. Wasn't she just over there? Are you wearing a wire? Is this chick serious? Tasty cocktails? Yes Retaining intact eardrums? No Good deals? Yes Having drinks bought for you? Likely if female Ability to go any further with this person who's bought you a drink if you fancy them? No, the shot girl will be on his shoulder like a parrot, pouring high volume spirits down your neck, so even if you can hear each other, and you're happy to play the man pays all game, and you want to go that far, you'll both be too wasted to do anything but face plant. There are men who walk around without their jaws on the floor due to boobs. There are women who dress how the dress, not to get male jaws on the floor. There are women, that want to still pay their way, with or without jaws on the floor. There are people, who aren't straight, cisgender, man pay, woman bend over. Yes, sex sells, but it seems here, that supporting chauvinism and privilege makes more money. First night in London, my mates and I decided to wing it by going to Soho by finding a random place. This is the first place we went to and we were surely disappointed. We first thought it was slow due to it being a Wednesday but after living in London for a couple months I know this place was crappy. Filled with old men, people standing around and extremely loud music this place was not a destination. We stayed for one shot and left. The staff were cheery and helpful and put in proper effort to make my drink even though it was of no profit to them. Our experience was overall disappointing. I try not to be negative but this restaurant/bar could be overhauled starting with their service. It was slightly busy but the waitress literally stood there not doing anything when we were waiting to be served. We witnessed a couple walk out after being ignored. I was looking forward to an Espresso Martini only to be told they had run out of coffee. Hmm on a Sunday with an expectant busy weekend with the Christmas Lights being lit around the corner. Poor management and stock control really. Just after our drinks were delivered and we were well and truly settled, the waiter came to ask us if we would move tables as 3 people needed to be seated. Um that for me was the tipping point. The only exception to this is for a disabled person and this was certainly not the case. My burger pattie was chunky and overcooked along with the onion rings. No sauces were delivered to our table and my burger also came out a good 5 minutes after my friends. Probably explaining how it became overcooked! My friends burger was actually apparently delicious so that's some reprieve however her Merlot did not taste like a Merlot. Then the 20% discount deal which is clearly advertised on their menu wasn't working online but we managed to get it approved after filling out a pamphlet. We were hoping to go back but after the lack lustre service, mediocre food and cold air coming through the always open main entry, we're giving it a wide berth. read more
