Excellent food and service. The restaurant itself is very nice, but the best part was the food. All the dishes we tried were flavorful and aromatic. We will definitely be coming back before returning home to the states in a few days. read more

Have you ever been in to a place that screams "CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!"?…read moreWell this place is that. The only reason I came across this place is because I travelled all the way to The Wirral to visit a tattoo artist. I was really hungry and couldn't be bothered waiting til I got home and then having to drag things out and cook... So I asked the tattoo artist where was good to go and he recommended this restaurant. The boy and I trundled down to the restaurant and we were welcomed in by a friendly waiter. As you can see from the photo's I've uploaded, presentation is EVERYTHING! It's clean, aesthetically pleasing and the seats were very comfy :) We ordered poppadoms and the selection of chutneys and onions to start. I did not expect what was delivered on a HUGE revolving dish infront of me! (see the picture!) I would have thoroughly enjoyed eating poppadoms and these chutneys for the rest of the evening!! SO yummy! The chilli one was overwhelming but very tasty. Next stage? Main meal; I ordered a Chicken Karahi with lemon rice (my fave) - I cannot describe how cool the rice mountain on a saucer looked! The dishes were authentic and again presentation was clearly key when the plate arrived with artistic garnish decoration! The portions were plenty but not overloaded - as you ate your first bite, you could tell how fresh the herbs, spices, vegetables and chicken were! The sauce was also light which made it very refreshing and not a burden on the stomach like some takeaway curries can be. After much mmmm'ing and delightful smiles, we were finished and our plates cleared away. They then brought us freshly cut orange and hot lemon cleansing wipes. The boy decided to have some ice cream and I had a lovely earl grey tea. After ordering dessert, one of the waiter's approached us asking me where we were from and some random questions about why we had come there. Whilst he was doing this he had put a bag of balloons on the table and asked me what animal I would like! I asked for a cat and he got straight in to it - it was fantastic!!! (see the picture!) A starter, mains, a few drinks and dessert with friendly service in such a great place came to just over £30. Well worth every penny. I am definitely going back if I ever go to the Wirrall again!

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the service was prompt and courteous. The food itself was generously portioned and oooo so great on the tongue. Huge range of flavours and textures all piping hot. Curries were excellent and even looked appealing as they brought them over. The manager even made my girlfriend a balloon animal with some banter! Haha Can you ask for much more from a curry house? Will definitely visit here again when we visit Mr Piercy again.
The chutney, onion and chilli dip selection to go with the popadoms - superbly presented and taste great too!
If you're lucky, they'll make you a balloon animal!
Even plain ice cream is presented so well!

This is not meant to be disrespectful to the many 'Indian' restaurants in the area but the Ceylon Spice makes them all look average. The big big difference for me is that they (the owners) know how food should taste and have their own ideas. They haven't just cloned a menu because they think that is what you do! Food is perfectly spiced, proportioned and you don't get lost on the menu. My personal favourite has to be black pork with coconut rice. The restaurant has a lovely finish and the staff actually look like they want to be there. On a rare Saturday night off I visited and was charmed by the owners parents who where extremely happy that my 3 year old was enjoying authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. You just cant buy that!!!

( I have been known to usher a word or two on this…read moresubject in my previous reviews) I must make you all aware this isn't an Indian restaurant but a Bangladeshi one. Yes, I know I get worked up about these little details but the devil is in the detail people!!!! Having put this littel fact to bed let us swiftly move onto the review. It does strike me as a makeshift restaurant with a design fault, isn't the waiting area supposed to be near the front? Isn't that why its called "front house"? Here the waiting area is actually at the back of the restaurant..hmmm !!?? The decor was also slightly strange. It was very modern and contemporary but had the feel of a corporate airport lounge rather than an "Indian" restaurant. It was a slightly surreal experience. But hey what the hell as I always say it is always about teh grub is it not. I loved the food. I just wish it was a thursday or a sunday because it would have cost me a tenner to eat as much of it as I could. Damn!!!! I do however believe it is a con, this, "all you can eat" buffet business. Fact is you can only eat so much at any given time, and it is a clever way for restaurents to cover average per head margins. In any case the food is priced well enough here all the same. You would probably pay marginally more than that on any other day. The food did carry that little bit extra umph which allowed me to bump it upto 4*s. Definitely a good addition to the Wirral dining scene me thinks, give it whirl I say why don't ya!!

I love the cozy and warm feeling when you step into the restaurant. You're greeted by nice employees who seat you right away. I have a favorite food item every time I go. From their starters to their curries and their naan. Everything is flavorful and delicious. Watch out because some items are spicy! Prices are reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. If you're looking for something new or just good Indian food, please check this place out! Give it a try, I promise you won't be disappointed!
