I reached out to Bassike after my $600+ purchase, having them for only two weeks, worn about 5 times and the leather has torn on the heel area, both shoes and looks shabby. Basically Bassike Customer Service made it very clear they would not be replacing them, after reaching out twice. I have never experienced such poor Customer Service, so disappointing! Oh but apparently I can make an arrangement to take the shoes into the store for further assessment but was made clear that the decision is not likely to change. Well thank you for your premium service Bassike. Perhaps stay away from footwear sales.

For me, clothes are all about the cut. I'd rather take a $5 t-shirt that fits well than a $200 Prada one that sucks. The tees here are about a hunjy each though, so don't go too crazy. Unlike many of the other generic non-brand-specific-clothes-stores in Broadway Shopping Centre, Attic occasionally has something a little different, mainly from my favourite of their brands, Mika and Gala. These dresses are well presented on the neat & nifty left side of the store. The right side of the store, however, seems to work independently of the left: cluttered and difficult to browse, it also hosts an extremely vague 'sale' section in which none of the clothes are tagged with reduced prices. But, sale price or no, it's still pretty cheap I often find something sweet at Attic, relying on the store in frantic pre-weekend nothing to wear times of trouble. This is despite the occasionally awful and tacky window displays - it took me ages to even enter Attic as they desperately need to hire some staff with better fashion sense and/or invest in some quality manikin dressing training.

U Turn has a pretty wide selection, mostly colour coded and ranging from cute yellow sundresses to slime green sequined padded bras/tops with nipple tassles. Fact. The rack that hosted the mosted for me was lined with one piece swimsuits of all shapes and colours, from strapless leopard print to '90's padded checks, paisley flowing floral numbers and fluro striped black catsuits that I'm pretty sure I once owned. Most of these were priced around $25, and whilst the smell of chlorine that clung to them deterred me a little (on top of the facts that a) it's almost like buying second hand underwear and b) I daresay years of wear has led to severely see-through swimmers), I feel an imminent purchase in the not so distant future. I've found a few good buys from U Turn in the past and if you've got the time to look hard enough, you can often find something pretty nice for pretty cheap - the last dress I bought from here was only $30. They also have a small selection of slightly (read heavily) worn shoes and some stellar handbags. The staff here are occasionally willing to swing you a deal if you're spending a bit too. NB: Heaps cooler than the Rozelle U-Turn store.

However if you don't want to treasure hunt in charity shops, U turn is a good option as you know they have selected pre loved clothes of existing quality so you can fast track your way to a retro look. U Turn obviously carefully select their stock, providing a mixed selection of 70's and 80's fashion. Lots of old jumpers, leather jackets and loud shirts. Their focus seems to be more towards women than men. Although I did find a hat I liked, I don't think I have enough hipster in me for U Turn to entice me to purchase, but based on the crowd in many Sydney clubs, they could be a goldmine for twenty something's in Sydney,

Its one of my local stores and I have spend thousands in this store, sadly the service I experienced on my last visit was nothing short of horrendous!!! A simple exchange was all I requested and was granted. The item had been purchased the day before, never worn, tags attached, The sales person, who first agreed to the exchange bizarrely changed her mind. What followed was some sort of emotional meltdown! Her outburst was completely unwarranted raised her voice, bullied, abused & seriously mistreated me! She assured me Entity Balgowlah was a sales store only and most certainly do not need repeat customers. R U KIDDING ME! Its not like the clothes are sold off at $20, I doubt you would find anything in this store under $100 Truth is her behaviour was erratic & scary I left upset and extremely dissatisfied! I wrote a letter of complaint to the owner, with the retail market in such trouble I assumed she would like the opportunity to apologise and remedy the matter, but to my horror she could not care less. I guess the shop assistant was right!!! So I have voted with my feet - they will never see me again - nor any of my friends! The good news is I now shop for the same labels on eBay and get better service at far cheaper prices - so fellow shoppers BEWARE and shop at your own risk!

Firstly, I couldn't believe that I only found this out a month ago. Secondly, I had to get down there!!! Of course it is as good as I had expected. Labels like Zambesi, Nolita, Marnie Skillings, Kate Sylvester, Camilla & Marc and Cohen & Sabine usually have an average price tag of about $300-$400 but here you can snare pieces for $150-$200. I bought a beautiful Nolita dress reduced from $550 to $220 with some Cohen and Sabine heels reduced to $150. The clothes vary in sizes and may not be current season but the quality and style of pieces make them timeless.

Come on, Marc; let's play fair. Despite what I consider to be highway robbery, Marcs is packed with young professionals getting their late-night shopping on when I visit one Thursday night. I think if you wore their entire range you would be accused of being too conservative, but a few pieces can add class to your wardrobe. They do colour blocking well and it is huge this season, and their stripes and sporadic patterns always work. They have a 50's inspired dress and for the less adventurous some conservative, ladylike dresses for the office function. Either way you can always do with some Marcs in your cupboard.

Situated just off Crown and a block or two from Oxford, this vintage store involves two levels of mens and womens vintage clothes and accessories, the bottom floor selling stock at sale prices. The dresses here are more expensive than you'll find at your average second hand/Salvos store, but not as pricey as you can expect from some of the city's spendy trendy vintage stores. I don't really mind paying that little bit extra for someone else to fish out the good from the bad for me, as long as I'm not paying over $100 for someone having a better eye than I. Zoo Vintage Emporium has a bunch of nice skirts and real fur shrugs and jackets and their racks of dresses come from an exciting variety of styles and decades, a nice change to the racks of same style different material dresses you get at some vintage stores. Zoo Vintage Emporium was a new find for me and I think it's my pick of this cluster. Also, the exciting descriptions on the tags of each item all but impel you to buy them. Wanna buy a "Summery fun lemon swing skirt"? When you put it like that, who wouldn't?!
