On my last three visits, different therapists directly asked me for a tip before finalizing the checkout, which made me uncomfortable. Due to tighter finances, I chose not to tip, not out of disrespect, but to observe how this would be handled. I believe tips should be optional and never expected. If tipping expectations are becoming an issue, management needs to consider other operations and/or coaching opportunities instead of putting that pressure on clients.
