I have twice hired Zerorez to clean my carpet. August 2023: Zerorez offers residential services (e.g., cleaning carpets, area rugs, air ducts, upholstery, hardwood, and tile and grout) and commercial services (e.g., similar to residential services plus cleaning cubicles and vinyl floors). According to Zerorez's website, their carpet cleaning does not use harsh chemicals or sticky soaps and is safe for pets and children. Their vacuum uses "Zr Water," water that has been softened and electrolyzed, and "Zr Clean," a high-pressure, controlled spray that loosens and removes embedded dirt. Furthermore, their machine extracts excess water to reduce the drying time. On Zerorez's website, I easily scheduled an appointment. I typed my ZIP code, email address, and phone number. Then I selected the type of cleaning and the areas to be cleaned. Prices for customers vary based on the number and sizes of rooms, closets, stairways, and hallways and if any special treatments are needed. On the online calendar, I saw many available appointments for several days later. I chose my preferred date and time. Zerorez emailed me a confirmation. The email said that prior to the appointment, I should vacuum the areas, move any necessary furniture or other items, and secure pets. On the day of the appointment, a courteous Zerorez employee called me and asked if he could arrive early. I said yes. The employee parked his van in my driveway, placed his vacuum tube through my ajar front door and up my stairs. The employee spent about one hour cleaning the carpet in a bedroom, stairwell, and hallway. Afterward, the employee walked me through the areas. I felt happy that all stains on my stairs and hallway had been removed. For the bedroom, the employee said that one urine stain from my dog did not completely come out. He explained that urine that sits for hours, days, or weeks can become a permanent stain. The rest of the carpet in the bedroom looked and smelled good. The final price for cleaning my one bedroom, one stairwell, and one hallway was $301, which also included one bio treatment, a residential-service fee, a tip, and tax. Zerorez accepts payment from debit cards, credit cards, check, and cash (no change). I entered my credit card number into a cell phone, and the employee emailed me a receipt. January 2024: I wanted the carpet in one bedroom, an office, and my living room to be cleaned. I scheduled a appointment through Zerorez's website. A friendly employee arrived on time, and he spent about 30 minutes cleaning the carpet. I had a $50-off coupon, so the total price for cleaning the three rooms was $253 ($119 for the three rooms, $75 for one bio treatment, $25 for a residential-service fee, $20 for a tip, and $14 for tax). The employee texted my invoice to me, and I typed my credit-card number into the webpage. Minutes later, he emailed a receipt to me. My carpet does look cleaner and does smell better. I was told when making the appointment they would not move any furniture which my previous carpet cleaners did. However, I was still surprised that they didn't place any protective plastic under items. They claimed they couldn't clean near the vents as it was soot. You could still see where a lamp had been sitting, and the traffic patterns were clearly visible after they left. My husband was home during the appointment and was disappointed. When I got home, I was too. Definitely not the thorough job we were hoping for. The carpets did dry in the expected time. And they did arrived on time. The price was very reasonable. I hired ZeroRez for both Air duct cleaning and the 3 room of carpet cleaning (which we used for the basement, one big room). Good - the online booking process is very easy and convenient, and the reminders leading up to your appointment are helpful. Pricing is all shown when you book (although, they will try many times to sell you upgrades during the job). The technicians were very nice and good at explaining everything they did. Bad - in both cases, the technicians did not take off their shoes or wear covers over their shoes in the house. Walking all over the house with their dirty outside shoes , which is unusual as any other person that comes into your house to do maintenance/work typically takes off shoes or uses shoe covers. Air duct - I asked if I would be able to see before and after pictures of the air ducts and the technician told me he would send them after they leave, and then I never received any pictures. None of the edges of the rooms were cleaned, I am talking the whole house!!! and there were stains everywhere ( that we had to remove). I understand that some were permanent but some weren't. I'm guessing they wore sunglasses to work. This is not what I expected from this company, and they charged him a fortune! They also rave about how reasonable they are....$400 they charged him to clean a sofa that wasn't that dirty. They are all talk but they don't do a good job. And not a reasonable price either. Upon my son's recommendation I decided to go with Zerorez after he moved out along with his dogs. My carpet was really bad with all the pet stains and I knew I needed not only a professional cleaning but also to get those stains out. I had to schedule a Saturday appt in order to accommodate my husband who works from home. One of the things I learned was that if you want the early time slot on a Sat then you need to pay an upcharge for it. That is not true if you schedule any weekday. There is a $15.00 fee for their coming to your home. When I scheduled I got an estimate and was told the technician would add any special treatment services needed. You are given a 3 hour window to allow for their arrival. I found out the day before that we would be the last scheduled visit of the day. That being said our technician Kevin came to our house around 3:15 pm on a Sat. He advised that in addition to the cleaning services that he use a biological treatment to get out the pet stains. I agreed to it and the work began. He spent a good deal of time in my son's old room making sure that room got a thorough cleaning. They use environmental friendly cleaning agents to help the carpet regain its freshness. He did tell us try not to confuse stains with high traffic areas. That's so easy to assume but normal carpet wear and tear does that. He recommended a Scotchgard treatment at the end to protect our carpet. He went over the 30 day warranty and the 72 return window if any stains remain. During that visit they would do a more intensive treatment in the area. Kevin used fans in the rooms to help the drying process and set up a heavy curtain in our front door to allow air to pass through in the cold weather. Kevin told us to allow 12-24 hours for the carpets to dry completely. We can start to put things back and although still wet walking on it would hurt you in any way. The job took about 2 hours and the add on treatments were reasonable to me. Checks and cards are accepted. Zerorez is pretty much on par with some other professional cleaners. I am happy anything left by the dogs is gone and my carpets smell fresh again. They do answer the phone if you have any questions during business hours. Am very glad I went with them. The carpets look clean, which is fine. However, we were told to vacuum thoroughly before the appointment and to move furniture off the rugs. (I expected they would do those things. It was difficult for us- my husband with a broken rib and I with a bad shoulder.) Zerorez was great to deal with! They were able to find us an appointment in days, not weeks. They were on time. Our technician was terrific. He was very professional and did an amazing job. Our carpets are very clean! They smell great! They stayed wet overnight (job was completed by 2pm). But, we were able to place our furniture back. We did prep our area very well. We moved everything that we could off the floor, off the tables. We moved tables, chairs, etc. (Gave us a chance to throw some clutter away.) I thought it was on the more expensive side when compared to others. I did not think cleaning 3 rooms would cost almost $400 (extra charges, tip). But, we did get quality work. After I saw an additional charge that I wasn't expecting, I did call them. The customer service person that answered, listened to me. But, didn't really provide a lot of assistance. She was going to connect me with someone else, but that person was not available. I'm hoping to hear from them soon. read more

Everything you've heard about Zerorez is true! I kept hearing about Zerorez on the radio, but figured Mikey and Big Bob are just overly excitable. My spouse and I were considering purchasing new carpet, and hoping that a cleaning from Zerorez would give us a few more months to decide. The carpet looks brand new in every room. We aren't going to replace now, so Zerorez already saved us hundreds of dollars. My service guys were on time, and courteous. They introduced themselves and reviewed the services before beginning. There was a door cover to prevent letting the heat out of the house and they wore shoe covers inside my home. There was no pressure or upsell. The service men worked quickly and carefully. My carpets were barely damp by the time they left and there was a slight citrus scent that disappeared as soon as the carpets dried. I vacuum regularly and shampoo my carpets monthly (two large doghters), but I never had results like Zerorez created. I'll be sure to call them again before the holidays for a refresher. read more

Our carpets are older and so we just wanted a basic cleaning. The tech came out to our house and more than DOUBLED our quoted price claiming we needed all these extra services. We reviewed the "new" price and removed an add on that was over $300!! I briefly saw the tech get disappointed and then he went to van and came back to say he "forgot" to add in a required service for $180! Seems too convenient to forget when you do this daily. Run Away!!!! We scheduled cleaning online. Choose three room special. Was actually two rooms a hallway and stairs. Technician said he would only charge for two rooms and include stairs. Also added cleaning 4 chairs and a deodorizer. Price was almost $600 Stayed in our game room while he did cleaning. When done he told my wife to stay off carpets for 4 hours so she did not walk around to inspect. After waiting over 4 hours we started to examine job it was terrible. Large stain still on rug, rest of carpet still damp, that spot was dry like it was not even touched. Large stain on chair not touched, and area under a table still had a piece of paper dropped the night before there and also dry and obviously not cleaned. Called to complain and was told technician had noted he told my wife stain on carpet permanent (nothing was said about it while he was here), no note on chair stain, and that unless we specifically asked that furniture be moved they would not do it. He couldn't ask if we wanted furniture moved or not? Also he moved other furniture with out being asked, and table is high enough that he could have still cleaned under it without moving. Person on the phone said they have a satisfaction guarantee and they could send the same guy back out to "see if he could do anything ". We called Zerorez at the recommendation of a neighbor. We have no pets, no kids and never eat or drink upstairs on our white wool carpets. The cleaning seemed to be very professional and thorough but after a few days we found some large spots that had to be a result of the cleaning. I called Zerorez in a bit of a panic. The best they could do was schedule a re-cleaning an entire month in the future. I wanted to have a local manager come and look at the carpet but it seems that there is no local manager. After a month, another technician re-cleaned the areas again and everything looked fine, immediately after he finished. However, the next day the spots were back as if nothing had been done. I called Zerorez and spoke to a customer service person in Minnesota. I sent him pictures of the spots and he suggested that the spots were on the carpet before the cleaning. There has been no follow up and now we are having another company re-clean. If the spots can't be removed, we are faced with a $10,000 expense to replace the wool carpet. With fairly new high quality carpet, I bought the theory of not shampooing it. With no children or pets, the carpet had no obvious problems & is vacuumed regularly, but figured that after 20 months, it was time for a cleaning to keep it looking good. I'm satisfied with the results + I had the ceramic tile grout cleaned & sealed. I'm no chemist, but the basic idea is that they use just water with a different Ph-level following a pre-treatment with a citrus based fluid that is supposed to loosen any deep seated grime. The carpet looks good, though it didn't look bad to begin with; it's a dark brown shade, so it would hide stains pretty well anyway. I'd estimate it took one guy to do the entire job about 3.5 hours, including measuring. He was very professional & efficient. He suggested I have the fabric protectant applied (for an extra fee). I was going to have it done in one room for certain & he offered a discount for having it applied on all the carpet. The tile grout is easier to see that it was cleaned well. The original van that the technician got to my house in had a problem & he had to call for a replacement. The equipment they use is mounted inside & it's the power base. Since there was no suction, he couldn't work initially. Another guy came out in about 30 minutes, which was reasonably quick. The cost was pricey in my opinion, though there certainly was a lot of surface area to clean. The cost was about $200 per hour on an hourly basis, excluding the waiting time for the other van. A day later, we saw some small areas that seemed to have been missed & they arranged for a re-vist a few days later. I would use them again. read more

Zerorez deserves more than 5 stars but 5 it is. With two 60+ lb dogs, I've had to call them more than I'd like to admit and each and every time the work they have done has been amazing. The folks on the phone and the guy(s) that come to the house have been courteous and friendly. They've had to get out some stains and smells from our carpets (including area rugs) that I'd like to erase from my memory and each and every time, they've been successful. The fact that they don't use any chemicals is an even bigger bonus! The additional pet treatments are a little pricey but worth the results. They've also been able to squeeze us in for an appointment with almost no notice which is much appreciated! Wow- very impressed with Zerorez. Honestly, we were thinking of ripping out our 20 year old carpets. I asked Zerorez to come in because the last folks who cleaned my carpets (only six-weeks ago) left so much soap residue in the carpet that they became dirtier in six-weeks than they were before I had them cleaned. The rep from Zerorez was VERY informative and the work that he did was excellant. The cleaning performed made the carpets look better than before I moved in to the house.
