The shoes I bought are listed at DSW for US $79.95. The staff are friendly and helpful, one of the sales assistants was very obliging in helping us find the size for the shoes we wanted because we couldn't find one on the shelves. In fact, they come up to you when they see you looking at shoes and let you know that if you can't find your size on the shelf, they'll check if they have it in their stockroom. I know it's their job but I've found the staff at other outlet stores to be unhelpful or grumpy, so for me it's a plus that they have good sales assistants.

I have tried the theatre out a few times with a close friend who is deaf. I rang the theatre...but told to leave a message twice....ummm. I emailed the theatre. I have requested the "Captioned View"device and both times there has been a slight problem.They responded with an email that only left me a choice of one time to see the movie. I will persist in getting it right though. Then the staff were most helpful in replacing the machine that was faulty. However in my survey of the experience on another website I did mention that there needs to be more of these machines at any one time and all movies should have closed captions available at the theatre. We only had the choice of one movie at three different times. So I am only giving the theatre two stars as it really isn't being equitable to hearing impaired / deaf individuals. On a positive note the movie was excellent and we did have an enjoyable night.

The main ticket booths are almost always closed, and you get your tickets in the Scoop Alley counters. This sometimes makes for long queues as people getting food and tickets would all be in the same queue, and there would often only be two counters open. Most people who purchase their tickets online get confused and often queue up not knowing they can skip the line, as the sign for priority tickets is a bit out of place in the Scoop Alley counters. If you order hot food, they note down your seat number and deliver your food to you, so that's a big plus for me. The downside to that though is the hot food isn't really that tasty. You can get your parking ticket validated if you enter before 6PM, otherwise the parking is free.

Basically, you really only have two options here, DC or Marvel, though there might be a shelf that has a smattering of independent comics, or another shelf that might have some Dark Horse ones as well, but that is basically it. I also was amazed when the nice shop keeper was able to help me find a hard to find book in their large Sci-Fi / Fantasy section. They had it and I was impressed. Small, but perfectly formed, the Dragon (as I think I now dub it) seems to go for quality rather than quanitity of mindless trash you can pick up elsewhere. Not that mindless trash doesn't have its place. Just not here. They've a well-organised and clear layout, making it possible to instantly lay your hand on something you were looking for, or stumble across something unexpected. Diane, the owner, is a delight, and knows her stock well, chatting knowledgably about a wide range of books, and stocking an extensive selection of children's books, I think the largest sci-fi fantasy range in the Blue Mountains, a big crime section, as well as general Lit and the other usual suspects. They run a generous store credit system, not paying a pittance for books in cash as most secondhand bookstores do, but offering a larger chunk of change in credit you can use at the time, or record for later. Not that I've ever had the slightest difficulty in finding something to blow the credit on. And did I mention their prices are some of the most reasonable around? This week I dropped off 4 books, and came out with some classic spinster crime, a history book about Queen Caroline, wronged wife of the Prince Regent, a Russian murder mystery and a novel about art theft and mysticism. Located near the escalators - (I think they picked this spot so when parents come up with their kids this is one of the first stores you see - well played smiggle....well played! . From stationary, to pencil cases, to pens, alarm clocks, mobile phone covers, erasers, nifty books and so fourth. THis place has all your kid's stationary needs and more! Adults are welcome :)

Novella (I adore the name!) is the perfect one-stop-shop for pretty much every occasion. If you can't find the right book to gift (yes, I still give books as gifts - is that old-fashioned yet?), then you'll be sure to find a cute piece of jewellery, some lovely crockery or even some particularly gorgeous leather-goods. And of course you can buy a cards to cap things off. So much for attempting to spend less time in bookstores!
