Nothing wrong with those specific ones but she just never really adjusted. Big Barn has been so understanding and helpful. She comes home every afternoon with a smile on her face. She's learning and making friends. Couldn't ask for more. They're very communicative and flexible. I wish I would have found them sooner. They are super affordable if you are looking to get your child into daycare and preschool. Definitely a hidden gem. Couldn't be happier.

One of the time my daughters teacher actually came out to meet my daughter and my daughter danced with that teacher! they both the teacher and my daughter interacted so effortlessly and comfortably it made me feel so comfortable and confident knowing that I could trust them to love and care for her just as I would. I can't express how much gratitude and gratefulness I have for this daycare. They accommodated her feeding tube with such ease and gracefulness. I am Very thankful. The difference between this daycare and her previous daycare at kindercare are light night and day. Fem the second you walk through the door to the min you are checking g your child out for the day. Pixie Dixie encompasses the safety, learning, experience, and excitement a child needs. This is a well organized, detail oriented facility that focuses on the international and cultural diversities that surround us here in Chicago. Kids can join as early as 15 months and be submerged into learning Polish, English and Spanish in a fun environment that will have them speaking fluently without much effort. The teachers are trained and focused in ensure a daily lesson plan is set so children excel in their education as well. From math, science, and history, to grammar, phonetics, and comprehension, the children receive a great head start to their learning that has kindergarten schools complimenting their progress. Whether you are of Spanish decent, Polish, English, Russian, Hindu, etc., you child will learn and master all three prime Chicagoland languages (Spanish, English, Polish). There is no greater joy than to hear you 4 year old Polish niece singing songs in Spanish and teaching you the words. Our son did not have a great experience in the first pre-school he attended, so we came armed to Picket Fence with a list of questions determined to not make the same mistake again. Our priority list included: a safe and nurturing environment, an educational and stimulating curriculum that did not only consist of play time, a creative environment that would optimize his development and last but not least, a committed, caring staff. We visited both Picket Fence locations (Elmwood Park and River Grove), and met Ms. Toni and her team of educators who were all very warm and open to answering any questions we had. They shared their curriculum with us which included arts, music, reading and dramatic play. We loved that there was a weekly communication plan in place which informed each child's parent about what their child learned that week and how they were progressing in their development. There was even a section that asked parents to communicate back to the school what the child did over the weekend or any concerns the parents thought the school should be aware of. We knew as soon as we left the school that this was the right school for our son. Fast forward to today - Placing our son in to Picket Fence was THE best decision we could have ever made for our son. He is excited to go to school, loves his teachers and is learning new things every day. Ms. Toni is not only one of the teachers at the school, but an on-site and hands-on owner who is completely immersed in the well-being of the children and the daily activities of the school. We are able to speak with Ms. Toni and the teachers any time in-person or by phone and have even corresponded by email with responses returned very promptly. I wanted to hug Ms. Nicole when she asked me if we would bring a tooth brush for our son so he could brush his teeth after meals!! We also love that the school accepts special needs children as we know this will help foster our goal of raising a son who is compassionate and caring for others who may be different from him. For those parents who want to be more involved, the school offers the opportunity to attend parent committee meetings which allow you to be part of the planning and decision making process for policies, and other school events. The best kept secret! I took two of my kids to see Kristi. My youngest son turned 10 and for some…read morereason we never really got to the point where he was fully swimming. Group lessons were really not a great fit at this point, because he was embarrassed to swim with kids much younger than him. I found Kristi online and gave her a call. She was so easy to talk to, totally got what I needed and told me to bring my older daughter at the same time to see if she needed help, too. After two sessions my son is swimming, neither kid is holding their nose or cares about having their face in the water and they are so much more comfortable. I couldn't be happier. The pool / facilities are super clean, parking is easy and she's so much fun - the kids love going there and think Kristi is the greatest person on earth! If you have a kid who's a tad nervous about water or not good in group settings, give Kristi a call. It's absolutely worth it.
