It was the last thing on our minds during our recent vacation to NOLA and the surrounding area. We were driving from New Orleans to Slidell to take a tour of the swamp. As we started over the Highway 11 Bridge, it happened. The rear passenger tire blew. As luck would have it, we found R& D Tires and Service. They're off the beaten path, but that path was on the way to our tour. Even better, they are open 24 hours. We were very happy to discover them. My husband made a call and found they had a replacement tire for our car in stock. We took the tour and then went back down the road. When we pulled into the lot, we were greeted immediately. Jarell came out to help me with some battery trouble when I couldn't start my car after dropping my dog off at the vet. He got to me super quick, like 10 minutes. Todd and his wife showed up and told me they received a request from roadside assistance to take me to an after hours mechanic shop but he knew they were not open so he called around to different garages before he got to me to get me to someone that would be open. On the ride back into town, I received some helpful information from Todd and his wife about places to eat and hotel recommendations if I wasn't able to get back on the road. After dropping my car off at the local Pepboys, they took me to the place I had my family taken to by an Uber driver to get them of the bridge. All of this exceeded my expectations and it only got better. They gave me their business card and said if i needed a ride from the Walmart where they dropped me off, back to my car or a hotel, to give them a call and they would come by in their personal car to bring us to our destination. About an hour later, we took them up on their offer and she showed up within 10 minutes to take me and my family back to Pepboys.
