I hope that you were sincere about working towards a resolution, but through a different avenue, as the one already given has failed me. My damage claim was denied despite timestamped photographic evidence taken at their facility the same day, along with a damage claim submitted IN THE PARKING LOT, and a verbal acknowledgment from their own employee Rashon Parks, who was actively directing my vehicle when the damage occurred. Their public response and their claims department are telling two very different stories. I went here a week ago after driving home from Pittsburgh in my new to me car. I went to the drive through the tunnel, with the employee motioning me in come through. As I proceeded to align my tire with where it needed to be, a loud scratching noise occurred. I looked and the employee, and he made a face at me as he heard the noise and saw the issue as well. He came up to me and said, "Well, I guess your car is too low..." I pulled around, and as they were working on refunding me, I looked at my car, which had a 4 inch scratch along the front driver's side bumper. I took pictures, and asked them to file a claim for damage. Not only that, but some of the underpinning on that side has come loose. I received an e-mail stating that it would take a week to review the footage, and then I would be made aware of a decision. Well, they decided with the video, even with the employee encouraging me through, that there were no machines or equipment that could have caused such damage. If you come here, I hope you don't have damage to your car because of their equipment, because you will likely be dismissed and left to cover the repairs just like I was. I will never return to this establishment again. First and last trip, and the weed smell wasn't a great first impression, either. read more

I was visiting Salem and needed to get the I81 grime off my car. When I approached the pay station, an "attendant" appeared and said he would help. He told me that I could get 5 car washes for $12 and change or 1 car wash for $18 and change. I only needed 1, but agreed to the cheaper 5 washes. He then took my card over to his tablet on the passenger side of my car and (I learned from my passenger later) PHOTOGRAPHED the front and back of my credit card. He then ran the card through the machine, asked for my zip code, and handed me five windshield stickers. The actual wash was good. BUT NOW I HAVE TO CANCEL MY CREDIT CARD! P.S. When I told my story to another visitor to Salem, she said that her credit card company notified her of what turned out to be fraudulent charge on her card subsequent to her using it at this ZIP's. read more

I had a horrifying experience at the Salem Zips yesterday. Once in the tunnel, as the brushes were coming across my car, I heard a lot noise and popping sound. We later discovered there was a metal clip attached to the brush. It was smacking my car and my windshield. I was lucky that the windshield didn't completely cave in but I did have glass falling into the interior of the car. There is significant damage to the front grill, hood and roof as well. This also happened to the car in front of me and the one behind me. A manager finally showed up but was rude and unapologetic. Never even acknowledged us much less gave us any information. The police did come to the scene. And to add insult to injury, they wouldn't even refund me what I paid for the wash! Totally unprofessional and very disappointing. read more

Traveling cross country we have visited many car washes. Never have I had my car look worse than when I went in. Look at the horrible film on my car and windows. Now look after I have rubbed said film with the provided "blue cleaner" from the car wash. What a mess. I spent 15 min trying to get this grease off, to no avail. That must be why no one was really using the car wash and the gas station car wash down the road that was just about the same price (without vacuums and towels and cleaner) had a line to the street. Salem you must have better options than this. I'm surprised they are still in business. Avoid!!! read more

This was the first car wash I've ever been in that offers a deluxe spray that cleans my car perfectly. From the inside to the outside including chrome, mirrors, windows, and dashboard, my car is squeaky clean. A bargain for the best quality wash! Over time their wax erased all the scratches on the exterior! Keep up the good work. read more

I loved Zips when I first joined and as a member, I ran my truck thru at least once a week, but I'm noticing more equipment not working correctly, and prewash... yes if you consider the front fender and tire a pre-wash. I sent my son in with his car to be cleaned and gave him the money for the premier and when he got home it looked like he sprayed it off with the hose, the ceramic coating is supposed to make it shine and his tires looked untouched. he came home and told me the help was rude when he asks for a receipt. Wish I would have looked at the reviews previously to purchasing a promotional monthly membership. It was $5.00 to try "Zips Car Wash" for a month with no obligation. So why not, right? So, upon purchase, I screenshot the purchase and take it to the local "Zips". I gave the attended my promo code and showed him my phone. He states "I will have to do this inside, so just wait here". While in the meantime, cars are piling up behind me. 10 minutes later, he comes back out, "I'm not sure how to put this in the system, so my manager is taking care of it". 15 minutes later, "the manager" comes out and says, "I am having a problem putting this in, you're the first one to bring this". So, he says, "give me a few more minutes" and all the while, they finally decided to open up the other lane. 10 more minutes and I finally stated that I have to get back to work, so I need to go and the manager comes out and states, "ok, you're all set". They finally let me through. I try to go back the next week and the sticker they gave me (to my surprise, sarcasm) isn't working. The attendant goes to look me up and guess what?! I'm not in there! Apparently, he just gave me a sticker to get me out of there! He says, I'll put you in. Again, 15 minutes later.........I finally told them to forget it and just cancel whatever they did and I leave. 2 weeks later, I have a charge for $45 from "Zips Car Wash"! I contacted CS and told them the issue and that I told their attendant to cancel it. No reply, nothing, so I place a dispute and then they reply! They stated it was outside their realm and so were denying the dispute. So, need something done on your end, good luck! If it favors them, they'll go out of their way to get it done! Do not use the monthly membership, if you do use "Zips", pay as you go. You will regret it in the long run! Expensive but I go because of the vacuums, towels, and spray cleaner are part of the deal. Went last week around noon. Rain was in the forecast for later in the day, but I still wanted to clean car. When I exited wash, I discovered that all the vacuums were off and all cleaning supplies put away. The young person managing the wash explained "because it's going to rain." He didn't seem to understand that the price I paid included those services - and that the business was perfectly happy to take my money despite the chance of rain. Demanded and got a refund. Just went by to make use of a free car wash, but failed to check the expiration date on the coupon. Attendant who was working let me go ahead and use the coupon anyway. Like this wash, just wish they would offer the $20 membership they had when they first opened. Wash does a good job and it is convenient for me. read more

This place would be great if it weren't so, so, terrible. First, never go at opening or closing.. unless you don't mind waiting or coming back the next day. The "customer service" is truly non-existent. The staff seem genuinely miserable. The cloths and spray that are supposed to be available for your interior dash, etc. are sometimes available if you bug them inside to ask for them- sometimes. The vacuums also sometimes work well, sometimes with reduced suction, and sometimes are off altogether. They close early on holidays- ANY holiday- and you cannot get this information by phone call or online.. you have to risk going by to see. The tire shine part of the car wash has worked a few times out of the 20-30 times I've been through. Apparently if you pay monthly via bank draft for the unlimited service, you can regularly expect their "computers to be down," and showing them your banking app where they've already received your money is insufficient for the. To allow you to use the wash. No exceptions apparently. I use my car for work and really wanted this place to work out. It has not. Be warned. read more
