The locals seem to flock to this place pretty frequently. The owners new customers by name (always a great sign), and there was a line when we got there (which moved quickly). Everything was delivered quickly and we ate while reaching our forks over each other's plates to make sure everything was tried, and nothing was missed. So upon entering the store, I was immediately expecting the classic 'deli snobbery' experience. You know when you go to an authentic Deli where the staff give you the cold stare if you take too lon to order or don't know exactly what you want. Much to my surprise, I was welcomed in a very warm manner. I asked for a selection of meats, and seriously thought this would be the point where they'd start snapping, but nope, again the lovely lady offered a range of sample slices for me to try! Woohoo! Pasta with names like farfallini, pappardelli, rigatone, as well as your standard penne and spaghetti's. One brand of pasta that took my attention was Dreamfields, which is a low carb pasta. That means that all those poor people who are doing the low-GI thing (like myself), can at least have the same meals. So as well as a good Italian wine selection, and plenty of pastries, there is a large delicatessen here. I usually go to pick up artichoke hearts, and stuffed tomatoes and peppers, but the other day I had one of their toasted panini's. It was stuffed with parma ham, mozzarella cheese, peppers and chillis. It was the most mouthwatering thing I have eaten in a long time.

Being italian myself I always find italian restaurants have the most friendly staff who always try their hardest to ensure your dining experience is the best it can be...this place had the opposite effect on me. This is a shame as the food is really good and I really enjoyed our meal and variety of cocktails. Some of the younger staff members need to put a smile on their face and be more attentive. Our starters came and we had no knifes, it took too long to get a staff members attention that we gave up and just ended up cutting our starters with the fork. My boyfriend ordered another beer and it was just slammed on the table and the waiter walked off without asking if the rest of us were happy or needed anymore drinks, we then had to try and get another waiters attention again to order more drinks. Its such a shame as I would be happy to go again for the food as it was very tasty, was at good prices and the fact the restaurant itself is really lovely. Its a shame some of the staff aren't as pleasant as the food, not even a thanks for coming when we left.
