Like, "Hmmm I've always wanted to study Ancient Mandarin calligraphy and how to speak in wing-dings, maybe I'll sign up for those next year". Sadly, the courses I have partaken in have been a bit more practical- a Responsible Service of Alcohol refresher, basic Word & Excel, and a car maintenance course that I couldn't finish as I was diagnosed with whooping cough after the first class. But for most courses they offer different levels so you can go onto advanced Ancient Mandarin Calligraphy next time the programme comes out. There are venues scattered all around Sydney but the centre of it all is right in the city.

Just let the excitement, butterflies and fidgeting slowly build as your turn creeps closer. Then.... "You strap yourself in and feel the Gs". Awesome Simpsons quote! But seriously, you're strapped in properly by someone that knows a 5-point harness. Don't be like me and put all your eggs in the 'I'll just get the photo' basket. BUY THE USB! My photo was horrible (not the photographer or quality), just a bad photo. So I didn't buy it. But my reaction passenger-side would have been hilarious. Could not wipe the goofiest, biggest smile off my face. But I'm still walking away with a memory. I did the 3 laps front seat ride but you can do that in addition to driving yourself. My partner also came and did Stage 2 of the Advanced Driver course. The ARDC Garage coffee shop is also a great spot to view cars exiting pit lane whilst enjoying the comfort of air conditioning.

I came here for the 2nd time to complete stage 2 driver training, advanced driving. Which I strongly recommend for everyone, beginning with stage 1 driver aware. These courses should be required to get your license and teach even novices who have no interest in cars the basics of car control and what to do in an emergency situations, and how to recognise when you're in trouble. It's a fun day out and theres always the entertainment of watching some race cars go flying around the track. My partner came along to do a V8 supercar experience ride. She loved it and said she wanted to have another go. I'll be sure to return here to do more training, my next being performance driving on the track! and maybe a V8 driver experience.

I had a two-hour lesson today with Henry, and it was fantastic. I have previously driven only in…read moreNorth America, and though I've been in Sydney for years, I've always been scared about driving on the left side. Henry made it so much easier than I could have imagined. He's extremely calm and confident - exactly the sort of person you want in the passenger seat when you're learning. He was eager to help with the specific issues I wanted to address, and he also quickly identified a number of ways I could improve my driving that I hadn't been aware of. His instructions and tips are clear and easy to remember, and his confidence is somehow infectious. The experience really allowed me to overcome the anxiety I've had for so long about driving here. If you're wondering if it's worth the money, I'd say definitely -- being a good driver is so important, and investing a bit of money for a few good lessons could save your life. Probably a good move even for experienced drivers who just want some expert suggestions and evaluation. I've already signed up to learn how to drive a manual with Henry, and looking forward to it! (Also, he's a really nice guy.)

The course took us through the history of the coffee bean, and how to identify different types of beans, either Arabica, or Robusta. Two people per coffee machine, we were taught lecture style, about the technique, and then asked to do it ourselves with guidance. Starting with technique to froth and pour milk, then coffee. So there are several things required to be correct for a good coffee: - Water at 92 degrees - 7 grams of ground coffee - 30ml of pressurised water - 18kg of force when compacting coffee - between 20-30 seconds to push the pressurised water through the ground coffee It was a great time, and they also offer coffee froth art classes, to do on the same day.

I decided to enrol in a coffee making course here last year; not because I wanted to become a…read morebarista: but just for fun to sharpen up my coffee making skills from when I was ding a bit of barista work 12 years earlier. It was amazing how quickly making those cappuccinos and lattes came back to me. It was heaps of fun, although it was a bit cramped having to share a coffee machine with another person; although it was around the MasterChef time, and the foodies wanted to do more and more with their creativity; especially when cooking courses were also in vogue. It was great to be served a delicious hot chocolate by Babette before I started my 3 hour all you can make coffee journey on a Saturday afternoon, and I actually now know how to make chai lattes too. It was easy to make the coffees, drink them and then bin them. I felt sorry for the cows that afternoon considering that I used a garbage bin full of milk while singing to the music and bopping around while I was making the coffees. At the end of the course I was exhausted. They then taught us how to clean the coffee machines, and I was just way too tired to listen.
