Probably the best Dr I have ever been to…read more I have been seeing Dr Moodie for the past 3 or 4 years for a neurological condition. She's thorough, smart and has a very pleasant bedside manner. Appointments are never rushed, and every time I walk in, she is on top of my previous appointments, symptoms, test results, etc. In other words; she does her homework, takes the time to know her patients and genuinely seems to care. I have been doing very well since under her treatment, and pretty much, all credit goes to her her for keeping me ambulatory these past few years. Initially, I was probably not the best patient. As likely true with most any drug(s)/treatment, sometimes they can come along with a certain amount of risk for some nasty, sometime serious side effects. Dr Moodie has always made me aware of this--and not once was I pressured, or rushed into making a decision on any particular treatment. She always gave me the facts, urged me to look into it, and I was the one who ultimately who made the decision. I'd highly recommend her, and hope she never relocates.

I live in the LA area now, and have many procedures done regularly in the LA area, including: "Deep Skull Procedure" - Spheno-Palatine Ganglia Blocks @ Cedars, Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiation @ UCLA Med - Westwood, and Suprascapular Nerve Blocks every two weeks @ St. John's in Santa Monica. Whenever I return "home", to North Adams, for more than 2 - 3 days, I always try to book an appointment with Dr. Van Uitert. He has done the Suprascapular Nerve Blocks, and other procedures, many times. I normally have these procedures at some of the top medical centers in the country; Cedars is #2, UCLA Med is #5. I've been a patient of Dr. Joshua Katz since I was first diagnosed with MS, and he's everything you want a doctor to be. He's one of the most intelligent people I know, but he's not afraid to say "I don't know" and to consult with colleagues and literature to get more information for you. As I write this, he's in Stockholm at the ECTRIMS congress to learn about the latest MS research and developments, and he's sharing updates with ELC patients on their Facebook page. He's hosted live online Q&As for patients, and it seems that whenever I email him with a question or concern, I have a response within an hour or two--even on weekends. And Dr. Katz is just one member of the team at the ELC! I've never met a patient of Dr. Ellen Lathi who isn't breathlessly praising her performance. I had my first appointment with Dr. Kenneth Gorson last week for intramuscular Botox injections, and I was so impressed by his ability to understand and address my movement issues. Their other staff members--from the reception desk to the infusion room--are so helpful and efficient that I actually enjoy days spent there hooked up to an IV. I'd be remiss not to mention the contributions of Jackson and Tiger, the very sweet ELC service dogs/mascots. I've met people who drive hours to get their treatment at the Elliot Lewis Center. A one stop place which offers patients everything from diagnosis to treatment, pain management and specialized physical therapy is is staffed by award winning physicians and nurses who are friendly and welcoming. This Wellesley facility is beautiful and if hospitalization is ever warranted the doctors on staff have admitting privileges to a variety of area hospitals. No one should ever have to endure MS. It's a horrible and often unforgiving disease. Having said that, there's no place better to seek out help.

When I had some serious SX, the nurses at L&M Hospital called him "the wizard"! He's down to earth, talks to your like your a person (not a number) and explains everything. I thought I was on deaths door five years ago (2019). I was passing out at work because of the pain and pressure on my spinal column. I was fortunate enough to get an emergency surgery with Dr. Doherty. He showed me a picture of the bone growth he removed from my neck that was the size of a quarter. He then performed a fusion on my C6-C7. I walked out of the hospital the next morning with no neck brace, no physical therapy, and no pain or narcotic medicine needed. If I did not have sleep apnea, he was going to send me home the same day as the surgery. Five years later, 2024, I had my C5-C6 fused. This surgery was more difficult because of the scar tissue which has made my recovery longer. Dr. Doherty is the best there is and I would never go to another surgeon for neck issues. His communication with his patients is amazing and it is in a timely manner. I have to clarify; it was Dr. Doherty got back to me not anyone else. I have never had that commitment and dedication from a doctor, especially a surgeon of his caliber.
