I walked up to the bar to order a beer, said to the bartender (I think her name is Courtney) and the gentlemen that were running the dart tournament, "watching a little NASCAR are we" Before asking for my order, the bartender let me have it, stating she did not like my NASCAR comment etc. I was stunned! I really don't care what they were watching or doing, I was just trying to politely make my presence at the bar known. Later, a man claiming to be the owner came to be and asked what had happened. Then he brought her over and she bitched me out a second time, while he just sat there and said NOTHING! I said to him, "did you seriously just bring her over here to yell at me"? And sometimes they don't always hire the best of the best. But sometimes they do. The food is good, the burgers are good. The service is usually good as well. It is more of a sports bar and sometimes there's live music, so if you're looking for a white tablecloth and black tie affair, this is not the place you're looking for. Every seat offers an interesting view, a fascinating collection of art, artifacts, vintage photographs, fossils, Idaho/Washington memorabilia and material culture including a vintage toy train that is elevated above part of the dining room, tracks and all. This is a cool place! This establishment has a sense of community, it's not a hidden gem to the people of Lewiston/Clarkston but a local institution, an iconic eatery, a culinary hot spot. The menu offers a gastronomic journey around the world. The sushi was on par with the best sushi anywhere. The California Roll was pure artistry, a delicate balance of flavors, clean tastes, high quality ingredients expertly prepared in a show kitchen in the center of the dining room. The Street Tacos, both fish and carnitas, Fajitas, Tempura Salmon Rolls, Shrimp Ceviche, and Crab Rangoon were a testament to the talent of the culinary team, they looked as appealing as they tasted. I had the Prime Rib, a generous portion cooked perfectly, and it literally melted in my mouth. Our Lewiston friends proudly proclaimed that the food and service are consistently excellent at Zany's, and they always prefer to entertain their out-of-town guests with visit to Zany's. We highly recommend Zany's. Dining here was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance, professionalism, cleanliness, eclectic menu offerings, attention to detail were remarkable and the prices for food and service of this caliber are a rare bargain.
