I had an early appointment at the VA (Veteran's Administration) Decatur clinic . I'm talking 9:00 AM so I had to get up, walk the dog, feed the dog, shower, fluff the afro and roll with morning drive time traffic on the 285. (Side note: Are you fuckin' kidding me? 285 morning traffic is NOTHIN" like 405 morning traffic. It was a breeze I tell ya!) Richard, my GPS unit, kept trying to take me off course, but I had mapped my route through OG cartography...yep, I use my AAA map of the city as back-up. Haha! Following my map route instead of listening to Richard got me right to the spot with no problems. Okay, now here is where it gets good. I check in, and take a seat. 15 minutes later, I heard my name called. The nurse practitioner updated my med history. I am a diabetic. I was given a prescription for a new glucose meter AND test strips!! (At the Long Beach VA, you only get this if you are shooting insulin. Who wants to get so bad that they need insulin in order to get this shit for free? ) When I told them that I had quit smoking and was buying gum, they gave me a prescription for the gum.....for free!! The colo/rectal screening kit....free! I was then sent to the lab with a full blood and urine work-up. Yep...all free. The laboratory was clean and efficient. As usual, my veins could not be found so blood was taken from a vein in my wrist, (which I hate) but it did not hurt, so I did not mind. My tests results will be called in or I can check them online. I am being assigned a new PCP and if there is a problem they will call me for a follow-up appointment. How cool is that? Ok, so I'm a veteran with nationwide computerized healthcare. Don't scoff, this could be you. Support healthcare reform!! I LOVE the Atlanta VA system.

Finally I choose to ask about their topical CBD. I found CBD oil to be very helpful with my early morning muscles aches. They suggested a nano CBD lotion, as it was a good size container and reasonably priced, I bought one. I can tell you my morning aches are much soothed by this lotion and as the container is so big, 8oz, it will take me a while to pick up some more.
