Through some research on yelp and google, I eventually had 3 different companies come out and quote me. Including Dever and MIG. I don't leave many reviews on social media, but I trusted Dever's assessment of our situation above and beyond any of the other companies. His recommendations not only ended up saving us from Wasting unnecessary $, but he also identified a couple trees which he recommended for me removal, which I hadn't thought of. And he was right. When they were removed today it was obvious they had major termite damage internally, which I never would have been able to identify myself, nor did any of the other groups mention it. If we would have left those trees, we would have had some substantial risk to our home and other structures if they would have fallen naturally. Dever and his team's communication was quick and did exactly what they suggested they would, in the timeline they originally presented. I'm super pleased with the overall results, how they cleaned up, and the value of this entire project. I had numerous communication issues--calls and emails were unacknowledged. The reality is that we could not agree on the next steps on the current job of cutting a 1in by 6ft section and staining aboard. Modern Handymen wanted to charge me a minimum of $625 dollars for this job. I believe this is exceptionally high. So, what happened is that I needed up being charged $125 or more for three visits. The 2nd visit included recommendations to completely change our whole arrangement. All they did was remove three screws and left me hanging. We tried to work out this new arrangement, and communications were ignored. Then an unauthorized visit by the "master" carpenter occurred. not "rip me off." I clearly disagree they are definitely trying to do just that. I believe this business harassed, is untrustworthy, and is unethical.

It's not to hard to get a hold of them. Cons: Will be brief. I promise. 1) They asked for full payment before services was rendered. Strange, but I complied. 2) Took much longer than expected. It took them 4 days to remove a single tree. 3) Yes, they were able to remove the bulk of debris. There are still twigs, leaves, and wood chips that was not removed. I've dealt with contractors before. They come out to my house and provided a quote. A plan is drawn out. Details and estimated costs are provided. Usually these things are executed in a single day. Once the good and/or services are rendered and to my satisfaction, then payment is due. NOT BEFORE. I felt like the experience was ok and "so, so".
