While it may be a bit on the pricey side, the experience is undeniably worth every penny, especially if you're looking for a night of shared dishes, attentive service, and great atmosphere. the mood is perfect for an intimate dinner or a celebration with friends, as it was when i came here for my birthday! the guac was prepared on the table, and had a great freshness to it, but was not worth the money imo bc it tasted pretty ordinary to me. same for the antichuchos de pollo - they were so small and tasted like regular skewers to me - they had a nice smoky flavor, but nothing that couldn't be achieved at home easily. i liked the trio de maiz, which had many different types of maiz, and was presented beautifully! the dish was very fresh and almost nutty. also liked their take on patatas bravas, which was perfectly crispy and with a delicious creamy sauce. love love loved the tiradito de pez limon, which had the most melt in your mouth yellowtail crudo/sashimi. it was paired with an amazing slightly spicy green chili sauce, and overall flavors were phenomenal. the orange tobiko wasn't there though... the salmon was one of the best things i had that night - perfectly cooked and tender, melty and delicious! amazing flavor pairings, scrumptious overall! dessert was one of the highlights of the meal as well. the churros were citrusy and fried to perfection, and paired with a great sauce. my personal favorite was the passionfruit mango pavlova thing, which had such a bright tartness! everything was served on what looked like homemade pottery, so lovely! the price point seemed a little irrational for what we received, but everything was delicious, and the overall experience was amazing! highly recommend if you're feeling a bit posh or just want to treat yourself!

My first course was a crispy duck and pomegranate salad. Fantastic. The duck wasn't particularly crispy but it was plentiful and a little healthier without having a lot of skin. Pomegranates were plentiful and it definitely had some spice to it, which made me forget it was a salad. My favorite dish was short rib soft tacos. I can't describe the flavor, just a lot of wonderful flavor and beautiful short rib meat. I then had Mexican style asparagus. Also great, served on a stick (I am partial to food on a stick). Nicely grilled and with a strong but tasty sauce. Last dish was pisco-glazed smoked paprika ribs. Nice sized portion, tasty ribs. Had to try dessert and that is what put this meal over the top. I had Esfera de Chocolate, described as warm chocolate doughnuts served with dulce de leche ice cream and caramelized pistachios. Incredible. The doughnuts were actually fried pastries with a warm chocolate interior. Loved the pistachios and the ice cream went well with the warm chocolate. Food was great but almost took a star away because when I checked in, was given a Set Menu flyer for the restaurant. When I asked to have the set menu, was told it was not offered at this time. Checked the flyer again and it does not show any time or other limitations. I found it very much bait and switch but the awesome food allows me to forgive them this time. Still not a classy move.

We started with all three ceviches...the artichoke vegetarian one and the tuna and sea bass versions. The artichoke dish was very interesting and a bit surprising but tasty nonetheless. The sea bass was delish and the tuna kind of what you'd expect, but solid as well if not overly inspired. I had a salmon entree and hubby had the grilled octopus, both were very good. We really wanted to try the "Andean mess" for dessert..we saw several pass on by to the neighboring table but we were quite full. I would definitely try upon return. In summary, the service and high quality fresh ingredients really make this place a great dining destination. The entrees are not quite as inspired as I would have expected which is why I didn't award the fourth star. We even brought portable fans, which ended up being necessary as the sun set directly into the restaurant's glass frontage, heating things up quickly. We ordered a broad selection of tapas: octopus, the salmon-wrapped sweet potato crisp, fennel salad, pork belly, spinach balls, and the bravas potatoes. The food was hit and miss. The pork belly was the highlight--flavorful and tender with a sweet glaze. However, other dishes fell flat. The fennel salad surprisingly came with canned pineapple, the spinach balls tasted like they were made with frozen spinach, and the bravas potatoes were essentially frozen fries--not what you'd expect from a place with this kind of setting and pricing. Service started out fine but slowed down significantly over the course of the meal. A couple of our dishes were forgotten entirely, and the heat made the wait feel even longer. Overall, Bravas Tapas had its moments, but between the uneven food quality, heat, and spotty service, it left us more frustrated than satisfied. It's a beautiful spot with potential, but there's room for improvement--especially when it comes to consistency and comfort.
