Log Cabin or Lodge type restaurant with fair German food…read more Despite being located in a rather industrial area, I love the look and feel of this place. Decor and atmosphere is really cool. Food is pretty decent German fare but nothing outstanding. Portions are quite large. Decent Rheingau wines at humane prices and beer selection OK. Service was friendly and efficient. First I was worried about the quality of the food seeing as it was so darn cheap! But I was pleasantly surprised. That was the crustiest pizza crust I have ever tasted and the pizza was cooked perfectly. As another user mentioned, the mushrooms are from a can and not fresh, but hey, they still tasted pretty good to me! I'll definitely come back here for more, and maybe even try the other dishes they have!

Whatvere was there before must have had a more modern style which the owners have only partly covered up with the rustic, Alsatian decor. Anyway, most of my party ordered Tarte Flambee so I didn't want to order a full-on meal. I did however order an abgeflämmte Ziegenkäse as an appetizer and it was delightful. Two flambeed goat cheese wheels adorned with ground nuts in pumpkin seed oil and a compote made of wine grapes. Cost around EUR9 but was very nicely turned out. Had a dry Alsatian Riesling which was commendable at EUR4.80 a glass. Wines ranged from 4.20 to 6.80 and I forgot to cehck bottle prices. There's not much I can say about the Flammmkuchen. Flammkuchen is Flammkuchen.kinda hard to screw up. Would stop by again to try the mains. All in all an OK but not spectacular place. Probably a nice place for a first date but not for an anniversary.
