The main dish was served on a plate and was a huge disappointment. Looked like pre-prepared lumps of meat cooked on water. Grilled yes, but most probably during the day to be able to meet the amount of people to be served.. The waiter was smiling from ear to ear as his restaurant was filling up. Asked him if he had some sauce to go with the meat. He smiled and said: No way the cook will be able to prepare something. Honest, yes, but added to the disappointment. It's a bit of a walk from the gates, but it's not too terribly hateful. There is a Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn within the FRA Terminal that makes life a lot easier for those who especially have early morning flights. Frankfurt traffic can be a bit of a nightmare and often times it's quite unpredictable. Without breaking the bank, you can spend the night conveniently at the airport for worry free arrival to your gate the next morning. The hotel is set in a mall type atmosphere with shops, fast food options and multiple restaurants. There's plenty of room to have a wander and go shopping instead of sitting around in your room. The next morning, wake up fresh and head to your gate. With the security check points being 10 - 15 minutes of a walk from the hotel, you'll be on your way in no time. Would I go back? Absolutely. A night at the FRA Hilton Garden Inn is almost a must each time I fly out of FRA. It keeps me sane and on schedule.
