I trained with Academy of Martial Arts for several years in my 30's. When I began I was soft and stiff, clumsy. I stopped training there because of a scheduling conflict that I just couldn't resolve, but I have never regretted the time I spent there. Sah Bom Nim (Istvan) is a stern instructor, who will not accept a half hearted effort. He will, however, tirelessly assist anyone who shows real effort to learn. He never tolerates disrespect, and shouldn't. If anyone has earned respect in this world, it is him. My older son also trained here. When we started, he had recently been diagnosed with severe ADHD, and I firmly believe that his time at AMA was integral in his success elsewhere in life. He studies engineering now. There is all the equipment I could ask for plus more. Also this gym is open 24/7 which is great because my work schedule is inconsistent. Another review mentioned the music being loud. I think it's an appropriate volume for a gym because you don't have to hear others and I don't have to worry about people hearing me when I'm out of breath. When I put my headphones on I can't hear it. Not that I need it, but I did notice there is an area for kids.

While the equipment and facility have the potential to make this an exceptional gym, there are a few items that make it an unsatisfactory experience. First, the showers are rarely cleaned and it shows. there are usually bugs, dirt, hair clumps that may remain for days before they are removed. On several occasions muddy boots have soiled the floor and it was days before the clumps were cleaned. Another negative issue is the blaring piped in music. During the day and evening, loud music may be necessary or desired to enhance moods or attitudes, but at 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning, most of the gym's users are annoyed by the music turned all the way up. As I write this, I can not hear my airpods well because the house music is so loud. Iy is 6:30. the people who work out this early are: a retired pastor, two teachers, a pair of mothers, a retired couple. These are not people who need grunge music played at 100 to accomplish their exercise goals. I have asked the owner repeatedly to consider lowering the volume, but he refuses to considers his patrons.

I started a membership here and was told my Partner could come with me whenever i worked out at no…read morecharge. i was also told they would need a membership by other staff so i requested to start her a membership and was told i do not need one. we proceeded to start a membership for me and i tried to set up direct payments to avoid the extra 100 or so in fees they wanted to charge. as well as a contract however Their system was having issues and Leigha could not figure out a way around it. so i ended up having to pay the extra 100 plus another 50 in start up fees. after going to the gym 3 times all at night we noticed their was constant litter / wipes left on the ground and by the 4th day we went their was a sign. the sign said you are trespassing if you do not have a member ship and they will press charges. i clarified with staff and this meant i could not bring my partner to the gym she needed her own membership now. after being told multiple things on the different rules/ policies and now seeing how small the gym was we decided to move to another gym. I cancelled over 2 weeks ago and i am still getting charges. They even texted me to say they were sad to see me go. But they sure dont mind taking my money. for reference i have gone to anytime fitness gyms located across the country and none have told me i couldnt bring a partner and they were all at least twice as large as this location with newer equipment and they cost less at the time of my memberships. hands down WORST anytime fitness location. i have now paid close to 200 dollars for 4 days at the gym. i am also used to a 4 or 7 day free pass to try out anytime locations as ive experienced in the past. not here. After a month of no response there's an update at the bottom Now I've spoken to the manager Kim who said she would get ahold of the owners and clear things up. I emailed in and I've called and texted that I want to cancel. Now they texted me today trying to collect payments that I filed chargebacks on. They even mentioned I could be responsible for late fees. Late fees for a membership that was supposed to be cancelled. This is after already saying they were sad to see me go. I'd love for the owners to reach out but they're too busy to care about their customers it seems. 7-31 UPDATE The owner has finally reached out and refused to cancel my membership even though it has been communicated clearly that the employee miss informed us on policies that we could not see as she did not have paperwork for us to read. Now due to their under trained employee Leigha we are locked into a 2 year contract that we have only used 3 days. We will not return and they even fired Leigha after we signed up and shared what she told us. But we are now being held financially accountable for the employees faulty actions. The requirements to cancel are invasive as well as they want to speak to your doctor to confirm you cannot work out or provide evidence you live further then 10 miles which we did as we are over half an hour away and they still have not cancelled our account nor have they frozen is after we have asked dozens of times. ive spent over 12 hours handling this now and have not gotten anywhere. This is a truly awful location/company with a greedy owner who only cares about the money shes getting from the clients. not the poor experience shes giving. Lots of fake reviews and we have driven by quite often and see its almost always empty yet when we went it was always a mess with wipes on the floor, bottles strewn about and equipment that was missing parts.

The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. (In fact, one time I got really sick there, and a staff member made sure I was okay and kept checking on me.) The place is always looks clean and even the restrooms have always been clean when I've gone. We do like the food. So far we have only gotten the cheese pizza and the cheese breadsticks but they have been good for what they are. There are quite a few games although most of the time, one is not working or functioning correctly, but they are always quick to fix the machine. This location does look a bit outdated in the inside compared to the other Chuck E Cheeses we have been to, but it's not bad. The plus side of this being that this location also gives more (virtual) tickets when it comes to games than the other locations. My 9 year old really enjoys this place, so we will keep on going.
