I've had a few bad experiences, including recently when the local dentist I'd been going to for five years suddenly found 3 cavities after being bought out by a bigger practice!! I have a fear of needles, and would much rather pay to protect my teeth than drill them. I've had 2 cavities my whole life and still have all 4 wisdom teeth... so I was shocked. The last thing I really wanted to do was find a new dentist, but the threat of $800 worth of dental work plus needle and drilling was enough to make me look! Main Street Dental was recommended by a friend... plus the new patient exam and X-Rays (including the full scan) were FREE... which made me a little skeptical, but I had little to lose. What a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! Normally, bitewing xrays make me gag, and I'm spitting out the mouthpiece as soon as I can. The new digital mouthpiece was so comfortable, it was easy to wait until Miranda came back... even on the wisdom teeth ones!! Then, Dr Osmun Sweden (spelling?) examined my teeth, and sat with me to review & discuss the X-Rays. He found 2 teeth to watch, but recommended against drilling, especially on one tiny spot.... he said drilling could potentially make it much worse and it could be more then 10 years before it ever became a problem. To say I was relieved is an understatement. I understand there are different dental philosophies but I really believed my former dentist shared my conservative and preventative approach. I had called around town and everyone wanted to charge $100+ just to review my x-rays, or had some negative reviews. Bottom line... if you are looking for a second opinion or just FEEL like you might be having some unnecessary dental procedures presented like facts... this is an awesome place to get a free look to decide if there's something better out there for you!! My NEW dentist said when we meet in 6 months we can decide if I need to come in every 6 months or 12! He put my fear of needles in my chart with options to help with that anxiety! They had good reviews…read more Though I felt the staff were nice, It is definitely not a practice that I would ever recommend for the dental implant procedure and process I Had needed and planned to do, through them. A vast series of unfortunate events, and great challenges that forced me to go elsewhere for a much more seamless process. Quite a time -consuming and sad outcome resulted and created me to start over the entire process. I did start over and am thankful that there are many options that have great knowledge of implant processes. If you're looking for a restorative or basic dental care, I'm sure they are good, but in what I was looking for, it was a horrible experience. Even more unfortunate, they never reached out to even follow up, as they were likely embarrassed for the multitude of errors they made. Lessons learned, especially about the care and service in what you're looking for. As everyone knows the Dental profession is quite different than the medical field, a very high revenue field that is generally 99% out-of-pocket and considered elective. Quite unfortunate that dentists don't have more regulations, hence the reason there's such a vast amount of them. Do your homework and navigate accordingly.

You will have to do all insurance paperwork yourself, they will not file for you. "Out of network" is their motto. Do not have any procedure other than a cleaning done without a second opinion from a different dental office.

Went to Calcagno Dentistry to get Veneers put on so my upper teeth would be whiter (you pick the…read morecolor) and longer. She did an evaluation and then told me what would be involved. COST was a little over $6400.00 dollars. She then brought over Danielle, (tech there) and showed me her Veneers and they were very nice. Dr. Calcagno put on the Veneers and they looked good at first. After a while one of the Veneers began to fail and turned dark. People commented on this, family and a few friends. I went back and she assured me she guaranteed her work. She agreed one of the Veneers turned dark and said it was the way the light was hitting it. She began to grind away at it and then polished it. Looked the same to me but she said it would be fine. I left. Time passed and it was worse. Went back, she agreed it was darker but did nothing to resolve the issue. I would ask but I felt she was arrogant and condescending. She did nothing to fix the problem. I kept coming back and asking her to please fix it as it looks funny having all white teeth and a DARK FRONT TOOTH. I went back again on September 18, 2020 and had my teeth cleaned and wanted to talk to her again about this faulty Veneer but she began yelling at her staff and ignoring me. She spent about 4 minutes with me then left the room. I left, upset and felt like she took $6400.00 dollars from me with no regard for my concerns. I made another appointment with Calcagno Dentistry on March 18th 2021. Went in and she had finally agreed to fix the DARK VEENEER. I went to the front desk and they said they were going to CHARGE me more MONEY to repair it. I about fell over. I said no this is her responsibility not mine. Then she refuses to talk to me and sends out Stefanie, (office mgr.) to handle it. Stefanie explained they can not mach them anymore and they would need to be redone. I said fine have her redo them. NO CHANCE! Basically told me TOO BAD now leave. I left quite upset. On April 7th, 2021 I received an email from Gregory Griffiths, her Attorney. He explained that she will no longer see me but will settle with me. Here is the EMAIL: Mr. Klatt, I represent Calcagno Cosmetic and Family Dentistry. Please see the attached letter from Dr. Calcagno. I am aware that in the past you expressed concern regarding the color of one of your veneers. Although Dr. Calcagno will no longer be providing services to you, she will agree to reimburse you $650, the cost of the original veneer. If you are interested in this please notify me and I will arrange for payment. Please direct any future communications to my attention. Thank you, Greg. Gregory J. Griffiths Attorney at Law Dr. Calcagno knows she is and was wrong and should have fixed it immediately when I first asked. It would have been a simple fix and cheap for her to do. But she REFUSED to REPAIR IT even though she told me she guaranteed her work! Now she is trying to offer me $650 dollars out of $6400.00 to try and feel good about screwing me. I think she doesn't care because she sold the practice and is going to let the new Dentist worry about it. Dr. Calcagno will let her deal with this. I will be posting this and pictures on social media, Google, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, My Space...Etc...TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE. If she wants to make this right I want a TOTAL REFUND and will go to someone else who will redo this mess. PLEASE SHARE THIS REVIEW WITH ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. I AM SURE I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS.
