I used to come here some ten years ago before moving to New England. This used to be a great spot…read morefor business guests or team dinners. So I was keen to visit again. I was surprised to see the mediocre reviews. My take:
We reserved online using the booking form on their webpage. I picked email contact and received a prompt confirmation.
Atmosphere outside in the beer garden is still great, partially under a tent (people were sitting there while it was raining a bit). We were inside. Country style old German interior matching the theme of the restaurant.
Service: good, no complaints.
Food: we had the Wurstsalat with pan fried potatoes (good, a bit too many red onion pieces for my taste), Kaesspaetzle (good) and the crispy pork knuckle. The latter was not crispy, a bit on the dry side and an overpowering and salty onion sauce (why? Regular beer sauce would fit way better). Disappointing. The side of Sauerkraut was good, prices as well. I had an Augustiner beer from Munich, somewhat unusual for the area, but great.
Summary: still great atmosphere and great for a summer evening sitting outside. Food is so-so. Ok place, but not a must visit.
