I ordered the special of the day, Mix Grill, with grilled meats. The dish was simple, perhaps even conventional, but the quality of the ingredients and the preparation was indeed very good. The place is cozy and the decoration of good taste. Coupled with reasonable prices, Die Kartoffel is a pleasant choice. PS: just the owner spoke some English, so it really feels like Germany.

I opted for the daily special of bbq turkey, pumpkin chutney and grilled potatoes. A first for pumpkin chutney I wish I had a bowl of it! Turkey was moist and flavorful. I also had a glass of Ursprung Cuvée a red wine from a semi-local winery. So I will be visiting this winery. The service was also over the top which I am finding in all German restaurants.
