I ate all of the mussels and I was by myself. Then, my main course came. My Salmon was cooked perfectly. I would go back and have the exact same thing. It was that good. It seems simple but restaurants do get it wrong from time to time. Also, the service was superb. Two young ladies seem to run both inside and outside. Prompt and attentive service. Highly recommend this place. I'll be in Saarbrücken again on Saturday and I'm trying to convince myself to try a new place, but I'm probably just going to go back to La Bastille.

Many Americans who start working here stay there until they their own housing. It serves typical German food. It often is busy with many military folks eating here. Some of the dishes are superb, others could be improved. I have eaten lunch here several times and have always enjoyed it.
