I've not shopped here, but 5 stars for the friendliness of the guy who helped me fix my bike at 9am - i.e. probably before he was due to open up. read more

Ein Mitarbeiter hat mich fachkundig beraten in Sachen Badminton Schläger. Der Laden befindet sich im 1.OG des Mercado. Totally unplanned and absolutely cool. I had to spend quite a while roaming the 2nd floor of the store, looking at many different jackets to find my new rain protection. 260 euros (aouch) instead of 400 euros, not too bad. Didn't have to ask anybody for help and nobody asked if I needed any. All the staff looked busy keeping the store in order. It was a nice experience and I'll be back if I need more technical clothing.

It's an e-bike store, one of the stores of this chain. They currently have only 1 store in Hamburg…read more You could book a free test ride on the website. Each appointment for test ride lasts for 30 minutes. When I went here for a test ride, a staff there explained in details to me how the bike works and related services. He was very friendly. The bike also works with VanMoof app to configure some settings like the gear change moments and bell sound. As of June 2021, this store has 2 models: S3 (for rides 1.7 m - 2.1 m) and X3 (for riders 1.55 m -2 m). Each costs €2K. You could make an one-off payment or pay monthly for 36 months. The staff told me that you could also reduce 36 months to fewer months but that means you'll need to pay more each month. It's not possible to end your contract prior to the end date. After this period, you keep the bike. Notably, the bike expense includes 3-year warranty but only for the electric parts. For the mechanics, you'll need to pay for it when something needs fixing. They also have accessories and add-on services such as powerbank, front basket, Peace of Mind services (theft and maintenance which includes mechanic parts). When I asked the staff if the bike has a problem, do I have to come here or can I just go to any bike maintenance store near my place, he said: "It's like Mercedes-Benz. If you go another store, they won't take it because it's VanMoof." Interesting answer but pretty inconvenient when the bike gets broken. Good service, good test ride but just not good price and maintenance's convenience. 4 stars.

I feel like you totally get what you paid for since the items seem to last for a really long time. I know a few ppl who are always coming back to Germany just to buy new equipment here :) Another factor is that you can't get a customized outfit in the states, so that's a great thing to be able to get something which fits you perfectly and protects you really well at the same time! I give 2 stars for this store in Hamburger Str. 200. Since…read morethe first visit, the store manager was very unfriendly and said that a cheap bicycle like mine (which costs around 180 €) was not worth to be repaired, but replaced with a new one. Even so, I decided to pay 85 euros to do an inspection (30€), install a basket (30€) and put a light with batteries (25€), because according to them with dynamo it was not worth it for this bike. And I know it is kind of stupid to pay so much to maintain a "cheap bike" but I love my bike and I chose to do it that way. I confess that the brakes were very well regulated but they did nothing more to justify the 30 euros, nor even regulate the gears, which was something very simple. In my opinion the maintenance team is not bad at all, they just do what they have to do and they did a good job in my bike! Unfortunately I can not say the same about the store management, which in my opinion is preaty bad, it only values money and is not attentive or helpful, much less friendly.

If you're reading this and still don't know this place, then you need to go there or at least check…read morethe blog even if it's not really up to date. I already saw it a couple of times because I was going to have a pint at Mutter but it was to late for it to be opened, but I popped in only today. The lamps Holly makes he's the owner of this place and he makes everything he sells are all made of paper and they're so cool that you really have to go there and stare at them, in pure amusement. If you talk to him you'll instantly understand that, if the things he makes are so cool, it's only because he's got a genuine passion for what he creates, experimenting with different geometric forms, playing with lights and shadows. All that using nothing but paper another thing he's definitely got a passion for. :-) Talking about how expensive it is, I think you'll be surprised: in fact it's not THAT expensive. Right it's not cheap but, hey: do you want quality stuff? Then you've got to be prepared to spend some money. Otherwisewell, Ikea is everywhere right?! So I think today I discovered another hidden gem in Hamburg, and I can't wait until tomorrow when I'll order my new lamp!
