It seems the new 3rd floor is mostly dedicated to stores that only rich people can go in. I might be wrong, but they look so expensive I don't dare to go in. There's just too many clothing stores to be honest. No mall needs a billion clothing stores. There's 1 bookstore and as far as I remember 2 electronics/entertainment stores, which are pretty much the only stores I go in to. There's however also a very big Føtex, which is super nice, and right in front of that there's an escalator leading down to the metro, which is pretty great. But to be quite honest, this isn't really the mall for me. If you love clothing and don't care about 'Den danske hygge', this might be the mall for you.

There were a handful of different shops, like a Boba tea spot and a Shop called Normal, which is like a dollar tree with a maze set up. Like any mall, the goal is shop therapy. There are many shops in the mall for all your needs. Malls in Europe usually have a grocery shop and a store that acts as a one stop shop for household needs. Malls in Europe seem more practical than their counterparts in the states.

It's really more of a mini-mall, and even that's generous. The whole place is pretty dismal, and not very inviting. And the collection of shops is your usual high street brands: H&M, a sporting goods chain, a men's clothes chain, a women's clothes chain, a Matas, and so on. If you live in the area, it's pretty convenient to have these shops in your neighbourhood, and it has one of the city's few large hardware stores, which is pretty much my only reason for coming here.

The ladies at Kaza were very helpful in assisting with recommendations on size and construction. Their prices were reasonable compared with the department stores I had looked at. When I inquired about a particular model and color which was out of stock they offered to call their sister store in Fredericksburg Shopping Center; they had my size and color in stock and helpfully set it aside so I was easily able to make the 2-metro-stop trip to pick it up.

The central train station in Copenhagen, it is marked as Kobenhavn H on most maps and is situated…read moreunderground with the newest M3 line platforms being 62 feet down. I intentionally planned my 2 days in Denmark around this area, with my hotel and the sites I wanted to visit within walking distance. The current station building opened in 1911, with a major overhaul in 1980 including elevators, escalators and a new station concourse. It has 7 platforms and 13 tracks, making it the largest train station in Denmark. With 100,000 travelers per day, it is the second busiest in the country. Getting to it from the airport required taking the M2 line, transferring at Kongens Nytorv to the either the M3 or M4 line to get here. The journey took a little over 30 minutes, and the trains were relatively crowded on both the inbound and outbound. The cost was (30,00 DKK - $4.69 USD converted) for the one way. There are no gates of any sort, and I didn't see any security doing ticket checks. Read on-line that fines could be substantial. Since the trains to the airport run so frequently, didn't have a chance to admire/partake of the station. On my next longer visit, will linger a bit more.

This flagship location of Magasin du Nord is 5 floors of glorious shopping. It's pretty much a…read moreone-stop shop for any of your needs. There's even a gourmet market in the basement below it with a bakery, pizza, fresh fruits & vegetables, and many specialty chocolates and candies. This part of the store connects to the underground Kongens Nytorv metro station. That's quite convenient for commuters on their way home from work. It's also great for tourists like us who want to buy last minute things like Lakrids of Bülow. There's a shop for that here as well. It's also where you'll find a coffee shop. We would eventually find out that there are many different cafés located on various floors of this department store. We found an express version of Hallernes Smørrebrød. I've written a separate review for this location, but for some reason it just doesn't show up in my Yelp activity. I just wish I had known about the other restaurant location on the top floor that boasts beautiful views of the square. We visited twice and somehow missed it. If anything, it would be nice to see a full directory of each floor listed on their website or near the entrance of the ground floor. The building is on the site of what was once the Hotel du Nord. Hans Christian Andersen was a resident of the hotel from 1838 to 1847. It's not the same building, but they supposedly recreated his room. It can be accessed on the 3rd floor. It's a second part of the store that I regret not seeing. Hence, the 4 star review for not having a clear map to everything without having to go floor by floor. It was a great find when walking through Kongens Nytorv Square. It's difficult to miss the beautiful French architecture of this building. It draws you in as you discover what's inside of it.

It's a bright, well-organized space and no one bugs you as you stroll the aisles for way too long. (Or maybe one could say that the workers didn't help you.) Either way, I found the crochet hook I needed and picked up some felting needles, too.

I was really happy with the store layout and the amount of fabric choices. I'm used to 45 to 60 inch wide fabrics and these are long, maybe 4ft wide!! Priced by the meter I got 3 meters for 33$ about 205DKK, so it was about 9€ a meter, very reasonable!! Staff was friendly, lots of patterns, buttons, zippers, interfacing, fluff, yarn etc.

My visit yesterday however was probably the worst client service given in my life - I can take that minimal service given since a few days before Christmas but the fact the store had two staff members of which one ignored my request of checking for a size, the second male staff talked very loudly with someone he knew in terms of going to interviews for other jobs and very clear his mind was not in the store. Anyway I asked to put two items on hold since I wanted to show my best friend the following morning - I was told it was only possible until end of day which I said was fine since I would arrive for the opening the following morning. When we arrived today at 11.01 the store was not opened and no staff in sight - we waited 15 minutes and then the staff arrived. I asked to try the pieces reserved; which she first couldnt find since he never took my name so she had to ring the guy putting them on hold and to find out he sold one of the pieces after I left. She had the weirdest reasoning for this and almost felt like this was a natural thing happening and that the dress I was planning to buy was no longer available. With this I also want to say we later visited the Acne Studio store in the city; and even if only one staff and several clients she gave excellent service and was super helpful to everyone in store.
