ELDERLY BUYERS BEWARE! RE: MICROCHIP Pet Finder Membership. A "lifetime membership" does not translate to the DOG's lifetime. But rather to YOUR lifetime, even if the dog stays in the FAMILY! For example, if you die and your spouse was not listed on the initial registry, your spouse or progeny would have to PAY AGAIN! I looked at their website and there's NO fine print next to the advertised "LIFETIME" membership.
THIS IS PERSONAL. My Dad who was the only family member listed, just died. I can imagine him looking down with ire--that the $119 lifetime membership fee that he scraped together with his social security money, would not ensure the protection of our beloved FAMILY DOG for its LIFETIME (as advertised!) Our dog is staying in the family, even at the same address, but now they are CANCELLING our membership and coercing ANOTHER LIFETIME FEE! Their sales agent dismissed our grievance with a "just for you" discounted offer--adding insult to injury and another roll in the grave for my father. May my dad RIP in HEAVEN.
