What an amazing experience!? I came in mid morning on a Friday and while the cafe was pretty busy, I somehow missed the morning and afternoon rush! So luck. This meant that I was really able to chat with Gemma (Jemma? No idea on the spelling) and get her recommendations. She asked for my spice tolerance and I said medium. She then recommended the Mexican and boy, that heat lingers! It was so delicious though. I highly recommend it and the Chia latte! Probably one of the best I've had in KC. I also ordered 2 Sausage and Gravy kolache and a Bierock (giving all those quintessentially Midwestern vibes!) I took those over to my parents and they were thrilled. I was worried the gravy would be a piping hot mess, but it stayed in the bun nicely and just 15-20secs in the microwave was perfect! Next time I want to try their empanadas and the Pinole latte! Gemma said they're moving towards a blue corn masa starting this weekend and I just have to check that out. It's a blue zone super food! Cheers to finding new favs in KC. read more
