I'm so glad we finally got to try Phowheels! It's located in a nice little plaza in Burtonsville, and the staff immediately made us feel so welcome. They were incredibly kind and actually took the time to explain the menu in detail, which I really appreciated because there are so many interesting options here. I got the bánh mì bo-khirra and WOW. This was honestly out of this world. The meat was so flavorful and literally fall-off-the-bone soft, and the portion was HUGE. It's definitely on the pricier side for a bánh mì, but after eating it I completely understood why. It was so filling that I actually got two meals out of it :) I also got the Thai tea and it was one of the best Thai teas I've had in the DMV. It wasn't watered down at all, had a really nice flavor, and they give you a decent amount. Definitely getting that again. The space itself is pretty small, but there's a lot of pickup/drive-thru business, so it wasn't crowded when we went. Service was quick and genuinely friendly, which made the whole experience even better. I really want to come back and try their tacos and some of the other taco / bánh mì options.
