While in town visiting my beautiful sister, we decided to visit Sweet Georgia's. I was drawn to it because of the live music and southern comfort food. We arrived around 9 on a Friday night and were immediately told by the valet guys that the wait was about an hour without a reservation. We were already there so we decided to wait. Once we got inside we were once again asked if we had a reservation and told an hour wait, OR we could sit in the bar area. Just our luck, a hightop right next to the dining room opened up within a couple of minutes and we jumped on it. The advantage to eating in the bar area is you don't have to pay the $5 live entertainment fee. Anyway, the server came after a few minutes and was not very friendly at all. He seemed very busy, so maybe that was the problem. Anyway, I started with a cocktail, and was SO excited to see they offered a wide variety of flavored moonshine! It was my first time trying moonshine and I went with Miss Ceely's Punch with strawberry moonshine, and boy IT WAS STRONG!! We then ordered a Fried Green Tomato appetizer and the Juke Joint Fried Chicken for our entrees. It was also my first time trying fried green tomatoes and I thought they were very yummy. My sister has had them before and said they were some of the beat she has ever had. The fried chicken had a unique flavor- it was on the sweet side- and I'm not sure how crazy I was about it. Also, my chicken almost seemed slightly undercooked as I saw some pink juices coming from the area closest to the bone. But the sides of mac & cheese and collard greens were deliciousssss. Our server warmed up towards the end and offered to take a picture for my sister and me, and overall it was a great experience. The live entertainment was really, really good and I would definitely return- just making sure to have a reservation next time. read more
