Set in a gas station/truck stop, this restaurant sits unassumingly in the corner of the gas station plaza. It's affectionately known as Kray Cray but the sign on the door says Cajun House. When they are not busy, you can call in your order or order through drive-thru, but a sign on the drive-thru window instructed us to order inside. Walking into the store, I was surprised at how roomy it was - there is a seating area with an occupancy of maybe 20 persons.
The menu items are majorly seafood and Cajun dishes (crawfish, shrimp, crab, étouffée, boudin), but there are sandwiches and non-seafood options as well (chicken, pork and pasta).
We ordered the shrimp and crawfish étouffée, 1/2lb of shrimp, and chicken wings. The shrimp and crawfish étouffée were very well seasoned and tasty, though more soupy than I expected. The shrimp was tasty, could've been a bit more seasoned, but after I let them marinate in the sauce for a bit of time, they tasted better (pro-tip: let them shrimps marinate before you try them), the wings were pretty good. Our entire order came up to around $40, which was pretty cheap for the amount of food we got.
I would visit again. read more
