Batture Bites & Brew is a new business that is a café, coffee shop and great dessert location. Batture is right in front of Camp Parapet which is a historic location that dates back to the War Between the States. Batture Bites & Brew has a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items along with a good selection of caffeinated beverages and desserts so in some ways it is better than Cafe du Monde. New Orleans coffee shops are special places and this is much more than just a coffee shop with all they offer. My first visit was at peak New Orleans Carnival season and Batture has a nice selection of New Orleans Mardi Gras themed treats with New Orleans King Cakes along with many other sweet treats that are Carnival themed. During my visit I had the turkey sandwich, a petit four, oatmeal cookie and a macaroon which were all delicious. They also have done a great job with their location which really is beautiful and has a lot of interesting touches added to make for a very pleasant ambiance. During my visit they also had a regular stream of customers so they seem to be developing quite a loyal following with all the great things they are doing.
