Service was also a bit rude and rushed and we were the only ones ordering. 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches were $27.50 I likely won't recommend or go out of my way to go back. This place is one my go to coffee hang outs. I almost want to keep it a secret because I enjoy that it is not overcrowded and quaint. This is what I would call a Orleans Parish fancy coffee shop setting with home made meals and coffee in Jefferson. You feel like you are in New Orleans as it is a raised house, with high ceilings, wooden creeky floors, door locks that barely work for the bathroom, and even live music. I have been coming here monthly since the summer and it is a small business owned by a woman who makes her own pickles and cookies with sea salt and coffees. Since it is small, they sometimes run out of items so if your heart is set on something call ahead. She has the most incredible pulled pork cheesy biscuit. Again, sometimes the cheesy biscuit is out, but the regular biscuit is just fine. The home made pickles are truly incredible. My hubby does not like pickles and he craves these. There is a sweetness to them, it isn't all vinegary. And the owner is considering selling them on the side soon. The cookie is a chocolate chip cookie that she adds seastalt to that enhances the flavor. The salad I had, she was out of the particular greens, but the salad was amazing too! The coffee I had was a caramel or something style, it was so good, I got it in cold and hot latte style! I love the teal truck outside that matches the door. The place is clean inside. There are steps to get into the place, there are about 5 or 6 small tables inside, there is a porch with a couple of small tables as well. Prices are on par with any other Orleans parish coffee shop, and parking is off street parking and is across the street which is basically Causeway. read more

Let me set the scene. First day at my summer job and we were all a little awkward. On the way home, missed my turn reflecting and found this lovely place. Figured a challenging morning could improve with a little carry out cold brew, so I bent the corner, circled back and went in. I'll keep it brief: Go Here. Eat fresh, delicious food. I didn't get anyone's name but both the chef-artist Mama and her gentleman partner were salt of the earth good folks who welcome you like you're their neighbors that they're glad to see. Beautiful decor has a setting where the colors give "great day by sea" with no sea salt damage vibes. Every little flair is well thoughtout--chalkboard with big print, fresh flowers, rock and grass balance, shaded outdoor seating, indoor maritime art that is not overdone, multiple table arrangements, clean floor to ceiling windows--Batture Bites & Brews offers a well thought out approach to dining. They are an example of the reason I love local, non-chain establishments. Every neighborhood needs their spirited inclusion. I decided against cold brew carry out for a dine in basil lemonade and salmon toast. All homemade. Toast on La Boulangerie bread, with fresh salmon, pickled onions and lemon aioli , the freshest ingredients make this a simple recipe that is a flavor explosion in yr mouth (that's what she said ). Only had coffee as she was out of a lot of food choices. Cappuccino I couldn't even finish it was so bad. Applaud her foam for cap but maybe she should prepare the buck better before tamping. The vanilla latte was also bad and couldn't finish. It's got some weird sweet flavor. The place is nice and be careful if you have kids as there was a window door open that has a 6ft drop off. The rating must be for the food as the coffee is a one star for sure. read more

I've been meaning to stop into this adorable cafe since I learned about it last year. And I finally made it in on a Saturday in January to pick up a king cake on my way to visit family. The cafe is a super cute home conversion with outdoor seating in the former side yard. While the menu looked tasty, I only scooped up a king cake since I was already running late. I purchased their chantilly king cake which was delicious. The baked brioche was split in half and filled with a little pastry cream, a lot of whipped cream and berries. My Mom loved it. Batture Bites & Brew is a new business that is a café, coffee shop and great dessert location. Batture is right in front of Camp Parapet which is a historic location that dates back to the War Between the States. Batture Bites & Brew has a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items along with a good selection of caffeinated beverages and desserts so in some ways it is better than Cafe du Monde. New Orleans coffee shops are special places and this is much more than just a coffee shop with all they offer. My first visit was at peak New Orleans Carnival season and Batture has a nice selection of New Orleans Mardi Gras themed treats with New Orleans King Cakes along with many other sweet treats that are Carnival themed. During my visit I had the turkey sandwich, a petit four, oatmeal cookie and a macaroon which were all delicious. They also have done a great job with their location which really is beautiful and has a lot of interesting touches added to make for a very pleasant ambiance. Great service, good food, great environment. This is my first time at Batture. I always pass it up on Causeway and it catches my eye. It's a brand new white building with a vintage light blue truck that's eye catching. Do you make everything in house (a plush). I came in for breakfast. I tied the special which was the Smoked pulled pork on a cheddar biscuit. Spicy mango, pickles, shaved red onion , & Mayo. Latte by Orleans coffee. Everything was really good. read more

This shop has been catching my eye on Causeway and I'm so happy I finally got to stop in! The barista was very sweet and they had a great assortment of coffee, breakfast, lunch and pastries that all seemed very fresh. I got an iced mocha which reminded me of my favorite mocha from pulp and grind that I'd been missing since they closed. I also got a breakfast biscuit made on fresh bread with fresh egg and sausage. It was delicious. The space is also adorable. It's beautiful and minimal inside and they have an even more amazing outdoor area. Could see myself working here or hanging out. I think this is going to be a new go to for me. Definitely one of the better coffee shops in nola! read more

Menú and Food were great- but all the tables needed to be cleaned and at the time we were there, no other patrons were in the restaurant. We had to wait for wait staff to clean a table for us. But they only cleaned the one we needed and left the rest dirty. Seemed odd- was a bit negligent in that department. We will give it another chance eventually. We love this place! It is a precious little shop with great sandwiches, coffee, and pastries. The Batture BLT and the pulled pork breakfast biscuit are really unique and scrumptious. The staff are always very friendly and go above and beyond to make sure the guests have a nice experience. There's indoor seating as well as shaded picnic tables outside. It's on a quiet side of the street and there is plentiful parking in front of the store. Batture is a must try when in Old Jefferson! read more

My biggest beef is with the price gouging. I was charged $1 more for my lox and toast than the menu price. I had to ask for my receipt since I was curious how $13.95 turned into $16.30 with tax. Now I know why he avoided giving it to me. My receipt showed I was charged $14.95. When I questioned it, the man waiting on me (previously identified himself as the owner) said "oh you can't go by that. Prices change every week." I was stunned, somehow lost for words. You can't post prices and then charge whatever you feel like. Isn't this illegal? Unethical for sure! I was then disgusted when I finally received my rock-hard toast and lox. Salmon seemed fresh, but the toast was a 3mm slice of something that was too hard to cut with a knife (I tried!) and too hard to take a bite of. I ate the fish and greens, which were nice, fortunately. I came here in August with a friend and mentioned the expensive $5 ice tea and $14 cuban. I had no plans of returning, but another friend said she really wanted to try the place. I relented but after she paid $3.50 for a can of diet coke and $20 for lunch, I think she felt the same.  After this visit I can honestly say I will NEVER return. The food isn't that great, and I refuse to contribute to unethical businesses. read more

Fabulous food. Must-stop anytime going from Nola to Metairie etc and vice versa. If you're an average eater you'll probably eat twice with one of their sandwich combos. The frozen rosemary lemonade they have (at least since I've been going) is off the charts. Trust me read more
